CHS honors veterans on Veterans Day

The Air Force JROTC at Carrollton High School held its annual veterans recognition program on Veterans Day today. This tradition has been a part of the JROTC program since its inception at CHS in 2006. In addition to organizing the veterans recognitions, the cadets showcased their drill team, performing arts groups performed and the CJHS and CHS bands played patriotic music.

Carrollton High School has hosted the Georgia High School Association (GHSA) Cross Country State Championship since 1994. The event generates approximately $1.5 million annually in economic impact for the local community.

State cross country meet has positive economic impact

For years, Carrollton High School has been the consummate host of the Georgia High School Association state cross country meet, but this year can also showcase bragging rights as the home of the state runner-up with the boys team running on the heels of the ultimate state champion – Marietta High School.

Fairy Tale Ball magic at CES

It's hard to top Fairy Tale Ball cuteness at Carrollton Elementary School! CES second grade students paraded and danced the morning away yesterday with Fairy Tale Ball festivities.

CHS students, state outperform nation on ACT

A five-year trend shows Carrollton High School continues to outperform the national average on the ACT, as does the state of Georgia as a whole.

CJHS students create commercials in video production

Carrollton Junior High School video production students have been working on creating short video commercials this week. Students prepared scripts, filmed, and edited their work.

Up & Coming: For Cara Herzog, advocating for diversity and inclusion is a passion

In this ongoing series, we reach out to CHS alumni to learn what they are doing now that they have the advantage of experience, education and self-reflection. This month’s pick is Cara Herzog, Class of 2003. Cara recently earned the prestigious distinction as one of Georgia Trend Magazine’s 40 Under 40 influential leaders for her work as vice president of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion at Southwire Company. Cara credits her parents and two teachers for modeling what became her core value – that all people are worthy and deserve equitable opportunities to thrive.
