Families with students who will be starting kindergarten or new to Community Consolidated School District 89 in the 2022-23 school year can begin the pre-registration process on 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, February 9. Registration for returning students will open April 6.
 
How to pre-register:
  1. After 8:30 a.m. February 9, visit www.ccsd89.org/register. Use the light blue button for “2022-23 new student registration”
  2. Create an account by choosing a username and password through PowerSchool Enrollment.
  3. Complete the form and hit “submit”.
  4. Once pre-registration is submitted, families will need to prove residency by submitting proof of residency online or submitting documents at either their student’s school or the district office (22w600 Butterfield Road, Glen Ellyn).
 
Residency verification for kindergarten and new students
Once you have completed the pre-registration through PowerSchool, you must next verify your child’s age and that you live in the district’s boundaries. Pre-registration is not complete until you have submitted an original birth certificate and the proof of residency documents.
 
When the pre-registration is complete, families will receive a link that will allow them to submit proof-of-residency documents electronically.

Preschool applications will open January 31
Preschool applications will be accepted from Monday, January 31, to 4:30 p.m. Friday, February 4. The link for preschool applications will be posted on the district website on January 31. More information about preschool applications is available here: https://bit.ly/3DR2JCN
 
Returning students will register April 6
In March, the family of returning students will receive the SnapCode they need to register via U.S. mail. The SnapCode will be used when registration opens to all students on April 6. If the SnapCode is lost or misplaced, families will need to prove residency.
District to host vaccination booster clinic January 24 at Glen Crest
CCSD 89 will host a COVID-19 vaccination booster clinic from 3 to 7 p.m. on Monday, January 24, at Glen Crest Middle School, 725 Sheehan Avenue, Glen Ellyn. The boosters will be available to anyone who is 12 years or older that completed their initial vaccination sequence prior to August 24.
 
There will be Pfizer and Moderna boosters available. Families can register at: https://kordinator.mhealthcoach.net/vcl/1642109583239
 
You must register for the clinic; walk-ins are not allowed. There is no cost for the booster shot. Only boosters will be available on January 24. There will not be appointments available for initial vaccinations.
 
The clinic is being run by Jewel-Osco/Albertsons. The boosters will be administered by Jewel-Osco staff members who have experience distributing vaccines (such as flu shots) to younger children.

Community invited to share input on maintaining buildings
CCSD 89 will host three public-engagement sessions where community members can share their thoughts on how to maintain healthy, safe, and accessible schools for students. The public-engagement sessions are open to anyone in the community.

The sessions will be held:
  • 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, January 19, in the gym at Briar Glen Elementary School
  • 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, January 22, in the gym at Arbor View Elementary School
  • 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, January 27, will be an online-only meeting. A link for the meeting will be posted at www.ccsd89.org/CommunityMeeting
 
The presentation at each of the three sessions will be the same. The community will be able to provide feedback on how the district should prioritize buildings and grounds infrastructure needs at all five schools. More info: https://bit.ly/3zUNF6K
