FULL COALITION MEETING February 7, 2022 1:00-3:00pm   The full Coalition hasn't met since October 2021 and so much has happened! Join us to hear updates from DEEP regarding new programs including ReduceWasteCT and Packaging EPR, status of Sustainable Materials Management Grant, and the different initiatives as a result of the recent Bottle Bill legislation. It's also time to hear news and updates from Coalition members to share recent initiatives.  Register in Advance for this Meeting Coalition Member Projects in the News Residents in Fairfield are encouraged to separate their glass bottles and jars from the mixed recyclables (single stream) and bring to the town transfer station where it is being collected as "glass only." The pilot program seeks to reduce contamination the mixed recycling stream, make the program more cost-efficient and ensure collected glass is marketable. Fairfield pilots new program to separate glass recycling (fairfieldcitizenonline.com) West Haven, in partnership with Atlas Organics is piloting a a food waste diversion and composting project using ASP (aerated static piles) and seeks to demonstrate to the people of West Haven and other municipalities there are solutions to the waste crisis. Atlas Organics brings modular system to New England - Waste Today (wastetodaymagazine.com) Want to Join the Coalition? We recognize that by working together, we have the potential to achieve economies of scale and send a strong signal for private investment and sector transformation. At the same time, we respect the unique needs and policy preferences of each participating jurisdiction, and the importance of flexible approaches. We recognize that each municipality can contribute in different ways, through different measures, to achieve our shared goals. We welcome all municipal partners that would like to join us in this endeavor.
