Updates and Working Group Meeting Schedules

Greetings,

As many of you know, we kicked off the Connecticut Coalition for Sustainable Materials Management (CCSMM) on September 8, 2020. The Coalition is made up of over 75 municipalities from across the state who have joined together to explore ways to reduce the amount of waste that is generated in our state, improve reuse, recycling, organics collection, and other innovative solutions.

CCSMM is looking to the future to find preferred ways to reduce and manage the amount of waste produced in Connecticut that provide system reliability, environmental sustainable, and fiscal predictability that also align with issues of equity and environmental justice. To date we have formed and met within our four Working Groups (EPR, Recycling, Unit-Based Pricing and Organics Recycling) and learned more about Environmental Justice and Equity in waste management.

At this time, all Working Groups have completed their third round of meetings diving into those topics with presentations and discussions. In two weeks the Full Coalition will be meeting for a mid-point check in on November 16th. All of the Working Groups now have their own webpages, which include a schedule of upcoming meetings, links to register for these meetings, along with posted agendas and presentations.

Please find below registration links for upcoming meetings and recordings from recent Working Group meetings.
