Note from the CCSMS Administration
Dear CCSMS Families,

Tomorrow scholars may dress up
We are looking forward to the return of CCSMS Fall Fest on November 3rd! Sign up to help here - we need volunteers and donations!

Tomorrow scholars may dress up for Halloween, but they must follow the Halloween Costume Guidelines & Expectations that were shared last week with scholars, including:

  • Scholars may opt to wear Halloween costumes to school on Monday, October 31st only.
  • This is not a dress-down day, if you are not in costume you should be in school uniform.
  • School expectations regarding non-uniform dress code must be followed, please see the school website for details
  • Costumes may not promote the use of illegal substances or activities, may not be derogatory, disrespectful or depict violence
  • Hats & hoods may be worn as part of costume, this day only
  • ALL costume preparations to be completed at home. (No dressing or applying of make-up or colored hairspray once students arrive at school)
  • Faces (identity) should not be concealed by any mask or full make-up
  • Costumes should NOT include items such as toy weapons or anything that resembles a weapon (swords, knives, guns, canes, etc)
  • Fake blood or other items that can spill are discouraged
  • Costumes should not include items with sound effects, lights or other components which would disrupt the classroom learning environment
  • Some costumes that may not be clearly addressed by these guidelines, may be deemed inappropriate by administrators at their discretion.

If scholars or guardians/parents have questions about the acceptability of a costume, please check with their scholar’s Crew teacher or an administrator prior to wearing the costume to school.  Students wearing inappropriate costumes will be required to change into a school uniform. This may require a call home to have a change of clothes brought up to them, the scholar will remain in ISS until that time.

We have several different ways for families to support CCSMS this month with pickle sales, the book fair, the poinsettia sales, and at Fall Fest! Thanks for all you do for CCSMS!
