CCSNJ Statement on Drastic Internet Gaming Reauthorization Timeline Amendment

On Tuesday June 27, Christina M. Renna, president & CEO, Chamber of Commerce Southern New Jersey released the following statement:

“The Chamber of Commerce Southern New Jersey (CCSNJ) is extremely disappointed that the New Jersey General Assembly proposed a drastic amendment to A-2190 (Caputo/Chaparro), which would impact the reauthorization timeline for internet gaming. As originally written, this legislation would have extended online gaming for another ten-year period through 2033. However, without warning or explanation, an amendment was proposed that changed the reauthorization to a mere two-year period ending in 2025.

Assembly and Senate Budget Committees Pass FY2024 State Budget

On Wednesday June 28, the Assembly Budget Committee and Senate Budget and Appropriations Committee passed a $54.3 billion FY2024 state budget very late into the evening and just before the 12:00 a.m. deadline. Had the budget not been passed before midnight, it would have missed the procedural deadline to let the bill sit for one calendar day before being voted on by the full Assembly and Senate by the constitutional deadline of June 30.

‘My Camden NJ’ Citizen Engagement Mobile App

Set to Launch

“The City of Camden, is excited to launch My Camden NJ, a new mobile citizen engagement application powered by GOGov," said Camden Mayor Victor Carstarphen. "This application puts the power of city hall in the palm of your hand. The app is a great source of information for city news, events, service interruptions and updates, and important links to the city website. In addition, municipal staff can streamline important community communications, and information to citizens in ways that are more efficient. We encourage residents, businesses, and community stakeholders to download the free My Camden NJ App.”
