Legislative Work
The successful launch and distribution of vaccines in NJ has allowed the residents and businesses to start their return to normalcy. On June 4, Governor Phil Murphy signed A-5820(Coughlin/Chiaravalloti/Sweeney), which enabled the end of the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency that had been in place since March 9, 2020.

The CCSNJ continues to be in constant contact with the Murphy Administration and Legislature to help ascertain the information and facilitate the connections that our valued members desperately need as New Jersey continues its economic recovery from the pandemic.

Resource Center
For the past 29 years the CCSNJ has partnered with the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia on the South Jersey Business Survey - a quarterly survey of CCSNJ member companies in which businesses indicate the direction of change in overall business activity and in the various measures of activity at their companies: employment, total sales, big ticket sales, inventories, prices paid, and prices received. The CCSNJ uses the results of this survey regularly while crafting legislative positions or in discussions with members about the state of the regional economy.

Ambassador Tip
"I have been a member of this Chamber for 25 years. It is the single most important resource I have for developing new clients in my business. The way it can become that for your business is by taking the time to develop connections here. Go to as many events as you can. I typically attend at least 1 per week. Don’t try to pick what you think will be a good event. They are all potentially events where you might meet your next best client."

Starting July 1, New Jersey employers and workers will start paying back into the state unemployment system, which paid out tens of billions of dollars in benefits amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The rates are spread over the course of three years to avoid a sticker shock for employers and a bill amounting to hundreds of millions of dollars.
