Since the outbreak of COVID-19 in mid-March, the CCSNJ’s singular focus has been to help our members navigate the economic crisis created by the pandemic in every way possible. A key component of this assistance comes in the form of advocacy at the state and federal level. While the CCSNJ has kept a keen eye on public policy initiatives related to the health emergency, there has also been a series of non-COVID issues considered by the Legislature that impact member companies and the region, which the CCSNJ continues to engage on. The FY2021 state budget has been like no other as it had no good news for businesses: new taxes, increased existing taxes, added borrowing, and meager spending cuts within state government. |
