COME FISH WITH US - MOVING WATERS PROGRAM IS BACK!

This day-trip activity is for you if you want:

·      To meet people in the chapter.

·      To explore Colorado rivers.

·      Help with an aspect of your fishing game.

This trip opens the 2023 season of Come Fish With Us – Moving Waters!

Where:          Colorado River - Pump House

Meet:            7:45am, April 29 (Saturday)

                       Park-n-Ride

                       C-470/University Blvd (SW Quadrant)

8392 S Burnley Ct, Highlands Ranch

Last season we explored several locations on the Arkansas River between Canon City and Salida. This season we may explore additional Arkansas locations, but we are also going to include new rivers such as the Blue, Colorado, Williams Fork, South Platte, and Big Thompson. More about these possible destinations in future newsletters.

DRIVE TIME: Last year our commute time to the river was approximately two hours. This year’s destination will have about the same drive times.

SNOWPACK: All drainages have above average snowpack numbers this year except the Arkansas which is below average. With spring run-off, we play it by ear, so we may find ourselves with rivers blown out except the Arkansas, and in which case we may choose to go back to the Arkansas as needed. Again, we’ll play the decision on the destination by ear as we see how run-off unfolds.

TYPICAL AGENDA: Our daily agenda for a trip is generally the following:

·      7:45am            Organize carpooling at park-n-ride.

·      8:00am            Leave park-n-ride.

·      10:00am          Arrive at river.

·      1:00-ish           Lunch.

·      4:00pm            Conclude fishing.

·      4:30pm            Begin return trip.

·      6:30pm            Return park-n-ride.

FUTURE TRIPS: If you want to mark the future dates on your calendar, here are the tentative dates for next few (all Saturdays):

·      April 29

·      June 3*

·      July 22

·      August 19

·      September 23

·      October 14

* - Run-off may be happening around this time, so we’ll adjust as necessary depending on conditions.

WAIVER: A CCTU waiver is required for these trips. Please bring a signed one along with you and give to the trip organizer. Email Harlan to get a blank one or it can be found on the Chapter website at: CCTU waiver form.

QUESTIONS? Contact Harlan Husmann at (701) 893-6068 or harlan.husmann@outlook.com.

MID-WEEK FISHING TRIP:  By popular demand, we're starting up Mid-Week fishing trips. We received enough positive responses to show that there is interest in playing hooky mid-week and going fishing. Please join Mark Davis on the Colorado River on Thursday May 4.

Where:          Colorado River - Pump House

Meet:            7:45am, May 4 (Thursday)

                       Park-n-Ride T-Rex Lot

                       near I-70 & I-470

                      18425 US-40, Golden, CO 80401

QUESTIONS? Contact Mark Davis at (303) 941-0393 or M Davis email
