In This Issue:
The Center for Children & Young Adults (CCYA) is dedicated to providing a safe and nurturing environment with comprehensive services for homeless youth and young adults who have been abused, abandoned, neglected, or are at risk.
The kindness and generosity of individuals and organizations continue to make a difference in the lives of the kids we serve.

CCYA Gives Thanks!
Bowling for Dollars!!!!

We are so thankful for all of our wonderful volunteers and donors. It is because of you that we are able to care for the children living at CCYA. Each volunteer and each donor is special to us. They say "it takes a village" and we are grateful for your support. We would like to thank some of our October volunteers.

The Cobb County Sheriff's Department held a bowling fundraiser for CCYA on Sunday, October 26, 2014 at the Marietta Lanes on Cobb Pkwy. 12 Lanes were reserved for the bowling tournament. It was a spirited event with the CCYA team of Victor Brown, Roderick Powell, Brett Green and David Borna, walking away with the 3rd place trophy!! We are thankful to the Cobb County Sheriff's Department for their commitment to the Center for Children & Young Adults.
The Big Bad Bass Fishing Tournament
The Sherry Family hosted a Fall Fishing Tournament Oct. 4th on Lake Lanier. We had 25 boats fishing for the biggest bass. It was a beautiful day, and after a full day on the lake, the anglers were greeted with a BBQ lunch as well as awards and prizes! It was a successful day and all the proceeds benefited The Center for Children & Young Adults. Thank you Sherry Family for your continued support!

Pumpkin Painting Party
Kathy Wickman and her prayer group from Transfiguration Catholic Church hosted a pumpkin painting party for our kids on October 12th.

Our kids loved this! They painted pumpkins and were able to win prizes for different categories. We appreciate when groups engage our kids in these activities and share their talents and time. The afternoon ended with one of the kid's favorite snack, WINGS! We give thanks to Transfiguration Catholic Church!

The Countdown to Christmas
The Countdown to Christmas
is right around the corner and we need your help! We have many volunteer and donation opportunities this holiday season! And the Winner Is.............
CCYA's very own Kimberly Tinsley, Director of Volunteer & Youth Activities! Kimie was nominated for the 21st Annual Human Services Award in the professional category and was honored at a luncheon on November 5th at the
Mansour Center. There is no doubt that Miss Kimie has gone above and beyond for the kids living at CCYA. Kimie is devoted to all the youth here and supports them like a parent would. Kimie attends all their graduations, school plays, and football games. She encourages, comforts and consoles them and she shows no favoritism. Kimie stays late when our kids need help with their school projects. She does last minute shopping for dresses when they decide to go to the prom. We are lucky to have her, but most of all our kids are blessed to know her. Congratulations Kimie!
