Celebrate #GivingTuesday With a Pledge to "Storytime!"
#GivingTuesday is a global day of giving that harnesses the collective power of individuals, communities and organizations to encourage philanthropy and to celebrate generosity worldwide. This year’s #GivingTuesday will take place on November 27th and will kick off the giving season by inspiring people to give back. Join us in celebrating this #GivingTuesday by pledging your support of early childhood literacy through CDA Preschools' "Storytime!" project.
Help us empower the next generation of readers and leaders with the literacy skills they need to succeed in school and life. To join the celebration of giving, please click the button below:
We are very excited to announce that CDA recently joined the Community Information Exchange (CIE) partner’s network at 211 San Diego. CDA is now one of 49 active CIE members in San Diego County.
The CIE platform presents a holistic view of a client’s needs through a series of screenings and assessments across 14 different domains. CIE allows the integration of data from multiple partners to create a single longitudinal record of a client’s access and participation in social services. CIE also allows partners to make and accept referrals in an easy and transparent way.
CDA Becomes
Cal EITC Partner
CDA also recently partnered with 211 San Diego for the California Earned Income Tax Credit (Cal EITC) Program. The Cal EITC provides eligible low income working families a significant savings and/or credit on their income taxes.
CDA will take an active role to educate clients about the opportunities and benefits of the Cal EITC Program, as well as support clients with referrals to 211 to schedule their tax appointments. We are very excited about this partnership and the economic benefits it will bring to our clients.
CDA Nutrition Presents at
CACFP Conference
Our Nutrition Program attended the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) annual conference. This event supports sponsors like CDA who help child care providers and centers serve well-balanced nutritious meals.
Our Nutrition Program Manager, Deborah Zaragoza, spoke on CDA's experience working with refugees who have moved to San Diego and licensed child care providers (Vietnamese, Somali and most recently Arabic Providers). She shared how CDA staff have been trained on their cultures, foods, and effective methods of communication to better support the providers success in our programs.
Our Website Is Now
Available in Spanish!
Earlier this year, we launched a brand new website to better communicate with clients and connect with our community. We are excited to announce that we have rolled out our Spanish website cdasd.org! To access our Spanish website, toggle the language in the top menu bar. Program information, resources, videos, and contact forms are all available in Spanish.
We invite you to explore our new mobile friendly website, if you haven't already. Special thanks again to our web development partners at BLVR for their top-notch work!
Together, we create positive change!
We believe in creating opportunities for low-income families to succeed. Every day, we provide families access to high-quality early education, affordable child care, and nutritious meals.
