CDA Preschools Reach New Heights
Our Preschool Program continues to be a role model for quality early education learning environments and best teaching practices, both in San Diego and California. But, our biggest accomplishment was to witness 151 of our preschoolers graduate earlier this summer well-prepared for Kindergarten and a lifetime of learning.

CDA Launches First Fundraiser!
“Storytime!” is a yearlong literacy program at our three child development centers.
Each month, our preschoolers receive a new book and family resources
to develop a love of reading and their first home library.

Unfortunately, our funds are limited this year. We need your support to give our 260 preschoolers and their families another year of “Storytime!”

We have raised $6,500, but with your support, we are confident we will reach our $30,000 goal . Help us empower the next generation of readers and leaders with the literacy skills they need to succeed in school and life. Together, we can create positive change!

Cultural Sensitivities a Major Focus at CDA Annual Conference

Every year, our Annual Conference allows the CDA team to reflect on our history, highlight our recent accomplishments, and set our sights towards our future.

Each of these women shared insights in the field of cross-cultural sensitivity and communications. Check

CDA's President and CEO
Receives "Salute To Men Making a Difference" Award

On Sunday, June 24th, CDA's President and CEO, Rick Richardson, received the "Salute to Men Making a Difference" Award by  Assemblymember Shirley Weber  for his commitment and outstanding work to Social Services in the 79th District!

Rick joined CDA in 2011, after 24 years of military service. His deep connection to CDA’s mission is based on his personal experience with childhood poverty and his mother’s struggles as a single parent.
CDA Nutrition Providers Complete New Meal Pattern Training

Our Nutrition Program had a very busy year implementing a substantial change to the meal pattern which included training 1,200 family child care providers throughout six counties in Southern California.

The science-based standards introduced in the new meal pattern increased the nutritional quality of meals and snacks; which include a greater variety of fruits and vegetables, more whole grains, and less sugar and saturated fats.
CDA is Going Green!

Did you know... it takes one plastic bottle up to 1,000 years to degrade in a landfill?

Through reusable water bottles, you can prevent on average 217 plastic bottles from entering our oceans this year.

We've pledged to implement green initiatives to promote sustainability of
the environment and efficient use of resources, starting with these eco-friendly bottles.
We believe in creating opportunities for low-income families to succeed. Every day, we provide access to high-quality early education, affordable child care, and nutritious meals.
Together, we create positive change!
