Community Development Block Grant program
CARES Act Notice of Funding Availability Amendment

Application deadline extended for jurisdictions with
Homekey Reservations only

To support the success of the Homekey program, the California Department of Housing and Community Development will be amending the Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA) for the Community Development Block Grant Coronavirus Response Round 1 (CDBG-CV1). The amendment will extend the deadline for those jurisdictions that received a reservation of Homekey funds to purchase property, and are considering using federal funds for improvements needed to make the properties ready for tenants to move in.

Paper The amendment extends the application deadline only to jurisdictions contemplating use of federal funds for properties purchased with Homekey funds from:

September 21, 2020 to February 1, 2021

Funding for this NOFA is made available pursuant to the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act. Funding is available on an allocation basis for eligible non-entitlement jurisdictions, and will serve the same jurisdictions as the state administered CDBG program.

Applications are being accepted through HCD's online Grants NetworkeCivis.
