Family Emergency Assistance served 27 households in August, providing $20,444 in emergency aid for rent, utilities, medical and other assistance to the 73 members of those households.
The Food Pantry made
52 deliveries in July assisting 142 individuals and 59 in August assisting 166 people. The Church of Latter Day Saints will be collecting food for the pantry at two local Giant Food stores (Little River Turnpike and Backlick/Braddock) on September 29 as part of the Virginia Day to Serve initiative.
The Furniture Ministry completed a total of 20 deliveries to needy households and received donations from 10 donors. The families served included several with single mothers, children, senior citizens, and people with special needs. We also received 24 warehouse donations during July and August.
Annandale Meals on Wheels delivered 1098 meals to 25 clients in August. This program provides meals to homebound elderly, disabled, or convalescing individuals unable to cook for themselves.
The joint ACCA-Shepherd's Center transportation program provided 51 rides.
