We ensure quality care through
Interim Management, Skilled Monitoring, and Reinvention
Greetings!

After three months of two to three weeks between issues we return to weekly publication. Yet, it is summer, and we accepted the curators’ as they left for Venice Beach excuse that it is summer and there is far less for us to curate because our great reporters and podcasters are also on summer vacation. Therefore, we offer a brief, eclectic, and we believe most helpful edition.

The New York Times (perhaps they too have key staff at the beach) had not updated from August 4 its State of the Virus at the time of publication, therefore we jump immediately to our data summary.
We start with what we believe is a good summary of the state of pandemic, please link to the most recent Washington Post article "CDC loosens coronavirus guidance, signaling strategic shift."

We next offer an analysis of the current and long overdue effort to control Medicare Drug pricing in the Roll Call’s reporting "Senate’s Medicare drug pricing may ripple into private market – Health insurers, employers worry the measure could spur drugmakers to turn to private market to offset losses.”

The San Francisco Chronicle asks and answers the question “Can you get the coronavirus after an unmasked person with Covid leaves the room?” in the linked article “How long does coronavirus stay in the air after someone with Covid leaves the room?”

Arthur C. Brooks of the podcast How to Build a Life is also a major Atlantic contributor, we link to his recently posted “To get out of your head, get out of your house.” Our readers who are fans of the transcendentalists know that the same magazine published Thoreau and in this article they take advantage of their archives to link you to one of his essays.

The Conversation offers us "How primary care is poised to support reproductive health and abortion in the post-Roe era;” we believe that this is a most important read.

Our first of two closing pods is from Axios Today  who reports inMaking sense of Polio’s return” that "British health authorities said Wednesday that around 1 million children in London are being offered polio boosters, after the virus was detected in the city’s sewage. The first U.S. case in nearly a decade was diagnosed in New York last month."

How to treat your Covid (with Drs. Bob Wachter and Taison Bell) from the curator and fan favorite podcast In the Bubble closes this edition.

From our offices in Culver City, Walden Pond, and Venice Beach, here is Revitalize for August 12, 2022:

With lots of COVID treatments now available, how do you know which one, if any, is right for you? Andy found himself just as confused as the rest of us when he fell ill with the virus. Using his own experience as a case study (as well as the slightly more high profile case of President Biden), Andy seeks answers from UCSF Department of Medicine Chair Dr. Bob Wachter and UVA Critical Care and Infectious Disease Physician Dr. Taison Bell.
