PROJECT SPOTLIGHT

Partnering and Programming for a BIPOC SGM Runway to HIV Research

The Third Coast CFAR CDEIPI program in collaboration with the Southern AIDS Coalition is led by Jagadīśa-devaśrī Dācus, PhD and Christine Wood, PhD.

This summer intensive program aims to increase the number of URM/BIPOC sexual and gender minority (SGM) graduate and doctoral students with an interest in intersectional HIV science and research with BIPOC SGM populations. The two-week program brings URM/BIPOC trainees into SGM and HIV research who would not otherwise be reached by existing programs, and it moves forward emerging intersectional health research with scholars whose intersectional identities are most affected by HIV.
