A very warm welcome to the first CDN Update of the 2016-17 academic session. At CDN we have been busy developing our programme for the forthcoming session. We offer you a taste of what is on offer below, including our new Framework for Supporting Continuous Professional Learning and Development, which builds on the success of the CDN Management and Leadership CPD Framework. I very much look forward to working with you over the coming months.
The CDN College Board Members' Conference will take place on Tuesday 25 October 2016 at the Hilton, Glasgow. The conference will provide opportunities to network, share experiences and learn from recent developments in the sector, through a mix of presentations and workshops. We are delighted to announce that the Minister for Further Education, Higher Education and Science, Shirley-Anne Somerville, will provide a keynote address. The event is available for College Board Members to book now.
Supporting Continuous Professional Learning and Development
The promotion of high quality teaching and learning to build capacity and develop the lecturer and college support staff of the future sits at the core of this new Framework from CDN. Its approach and content will be mapped against the Initial Professional Standards for College Lecturers.
Research shows that young people want to be able to choose actions that help them cope, find out what that means with this webinar. It is delivered by Scotland's anti-bullying service, respectme, and will explore how to support students affected by bullying behaviour.
