Taking Care of Your Business!
So where is the best place to spend your company's technology budget this year? Security. That's right, security! Why? Because many businesses are vulnerable to an attack due to lack of procedural and environmental security precautionary measures.
Don't think it won't happen to you. It probably will. More than one in five small businesses reported a data breach within the past 24 months. And, 41% of those said that a data breach cost them more than $50,000 to recover.

In Memoriam
Inventor of the Laser Printer Passes Away
Gary Starkweather (pictured), who invented the laser printer in defiance of his corporate boss at Xerox, making the direct printing from computer terminals possible in homes and offices, died Dec. 26 at a hospital in Orlando. He was 81.
It took some persuasion before corporate executives gave the green light to the laser printer, which finally hit the market in 1977. The Xerox 9700 became one of the most successful products in the company's history, making it possible to print directly from computers and leading to a revolution in printing technology.
