Do you want to travel the world, solve unique challenges, work in a broad spectrum of information technology roles, and get paid? If so, you might be interested in becoming a Foreign Service Information Management Specialist (IMS). IMS are stationed abroad at U.S. embassies and consulates. We are the front-line support for the Ambassador or Consul General and all diplomats that work in the mission. Our daily work can include tier 1 customer support, processing inbound and outbound mail, troubleshooting and fixing encryption equipment, network management, active directory management, managing PBX systems and radio networks, and having a supervisory role with locally employed staff. One day you may provide technical support in setting up a secure call between the head of state of the local government, and the next day you may be running cables through the ceiling. CACI Software Development Intern

CACI has several openings for their summer internship program. They have developed a number of research & development projects designed to enhance their code baseline. The completed projects will be integrated into the FADE Program. The techniques, technologies and tools you will be exposed to consist of:

  • Use of Agile and its relationship to the software development lifecycle
  • Understanding programming principles, such as object-orientation and use of design patterns

CEAS Shop Intern

An opportunity exists for a Mechanical Engineering student to assist in designing and building experimental & educational systems for a wide range of disciplines across the UW campus in the Engineering Shop. This hands-on internship position is multiple parts: System integration, mechanical design, CAD modeling and time spent working in the shops (fabrication, machining, soldering, wiring, daily upkeep, etc...). The position will be up to 40 hr/week during the 2022 Summer and up to 20hr/week during the Fall 2022 Semester, pending what the selected candidate’s course schedule allows

Federal and Environmental Solutions

This summer job could be a good opportunity for students staying in/around Laramie to take summer classes.


Position: Seasonal Phytoremediation Technician (landscaping)

Schedule/Commitment: Total of 200 hours. Weekdays, late May through mid-August, with some flexibility around class schedules, weather, etc.

Location: Laramie, WY (approx. 4.5 miles south of the university)

Compensation: $15.50 per hour

Description: Maintenance of approximately 50 acres of vegetation in the Integrated Phytoremediation / Greenbelt project at the south loop portion of the Laramie River Greenbelt Trail. Mowing grass with a zero-turn riding mower, monitoring tree health, operating/maintaining/repairing irrigation systems, performing preventive maintenance on equipment, and related tasks. This work contributes to a valued recreational resource enjoyed by many in the community.

Requirements: Dependable, hard-working individual at least 18 years of age who is able to follow oral and written instructions, understand and comply with safety procedures, interact positively with other employees and the public, and work both independently and on a team in an outdoor setting. Farm/ranch, landscaping, or similar experience is required. Mechanical aptitude and experience operating and maintaining powered equipment including zero-turn riding mower is desirable. Applicants offered the position must pass a background check including a clean driving record.

Soil-Eaze LLC - Short Term Project

Soil-Eaze LLC is an agriculture start-up that is in need of a student that can make a Solidworks model of our machine. We are a manufacturer of a semi-automated, auger-driven, soil distribution machine. The Solidworks model will consist of a frame, hopper, and our auger-driven device assembled into a model. The length of the job is a maximum of one week. Soil-Eaze will pay up to $20/hr for an experienced student who is willing to work hard and help a start-up company.

  • Must have experience with Solidworks or like programs. 
  • Must have access to Solidworks or a cad program that is of similar nature.

E-470 Public Highway Authority

E-470 is hiring a civil engineering intern for the summer. The Intern will support E-470’s Engineering and Roadway Maintenance Department team by providing direct assistance to the team in matters of construction, maintenance and operation of the toll road around the eastern portion of the Denver metro area. One of the few fully automated toll collection systems in the nation, we showcase the future of tollway administration.


The successful candidate will gain useful working experience in civil engineering projects as well as an understanding of construction supervision and contract administration. The intern will be working under the direct supervision of a P.E. The internship begins mid-May and will end mid-August, depending on school schedules. American Engineering Testing

Learn from our respected engineers and technicians as an AET Intern or Co-op! You’ll receive training in the areas of construction materials testing and field observations to go beyond what you’ve learned in the classroom in your engineering or geology coursework. As an Intern/Co-op, you’ll receive insight on how engineers, technicians, and contractors work together on the job site to complete a project successfully. Internships are available during the summer, and Co-op experiences last for six months (full-time employment from early summer to late fall) and allow for a greater depth of technical training and proficiency.
