Cushing Terrell is seeking a Structural EIT… for either their Kalispell or Billings, MT offices. A Structural EIT’s responsibility at Cushing Terrell include structural design, drafting, and delivering complex design solutions. A thorough knowledge design, and experience in framing of structural building systems. You will perform and review load calculations. You will develop project specifications and construction documents. What’s Needed: 
  • A BS or MS Degree in Structural Engineering from an ABET accredited school
  • Possesses strong knowledge of use with different material typologies including: wood, steel, concrete, and aluminum
  • 0-5 years experience
  • Strong knowledge of slab, foundation, and pier anchoring systems 
  • Interest in Bridge design
  • Successfully passed the FE

Barr has a Chemical or Environmental Engineering cooperative education opportunity open, beginning January and going through June 2021 for the first rotation in Denver, CO. Shane Dilsaver, a UW ChE alum from 2019 sent this notice for other UW students to consider. Consider a spring co-op program with Barr especially if thinking of taking a semester away from classes due to COVID issues; you can enroll in an engineering 'internship' type class for the spring. Minimum Qualifications
  • Ongoing enrollment in a chemical, or environmental engineering degree program
  • Completion of six courses in engineering

  • Intrinsic motivation with an emphasis on client service and interest in growing a career in environmental consulting
  • Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with project team members, regulators, and clients
  • Strong technical and problem-solving skills including attention to detail, accuracy, and completeness
  • Strong data analysis skills, including the use of spreadsheets
  • Willingness to travel and periodically adjust personal schedule to meet project needs
  • Acceptable driving record
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship
NOTE: Applicants must be able to work in locations that feature rough terrain typical of construction sites and to enter and work within facilities that include limited accessibility, moving machinery, high temperature and pressure process equipment, and other conditions typical of large industrial facilities. Job assignments may involve work on waste disposal sites and sites requiring cleanup of hazardous materials. An OSHA-mandated physical exam may be required; safety training will be provided.
