Stay-a-Float Position Opening
Stay-a-Float is a start-up company and they seek to hire two UW students as independent contractors:
1) 100% remote work so a relatively fast connection to the internet will be needed
2) Will need to attend a weekly team meeting each Friday morning
3) Two project positions available:
a. Java programmer – the project would be to upgrade our JHipster from 3.2.0 to the current version as quickly as possible (with growth into other Java programming fixes)
b. Blockchain programmer – the project would be to upgrade our smart contracts into “upgradable smart contracts” as quickly as possible (with growth potential into other blockchain fixes/upgrades)
4) Need to be a self-learner, can use on-line videos, etc.; questions can be asked during weekly team meetings and with the lead architect between meetings, although the meat of learning needs to be self-initiated. Student employees will not be micromanaged and will be assisted when needed, but being assigned small tasks, etc. is not be the typical way the company works
5) Must be willing and able to communicate, through comments and documentation, on the phase of work being done; employees will be part of a team and not report to just one manager, as such you will need to be oriented to keeping the entire team aware of where you are in your tasks (structure is in place to assist with this)

Frontier Astronautics Internship, Chugwater, WY
They are seeking an intern to assist with their NASA contract. The contract is to develop a rocket engine turbo pump. http://www.frontierastronautics.com/
Under the direction of Timothy Bendel (President of F.A.) the intern will provide early prototypes of turbo pumps, then pass the drawings along to the design expert who will complete the detail work. Intern will use SolidWorks so basic experience and understanding of the software is needed; advanced knowledge of the system is not expected.
Any engineering major with basic SolidWorks experience, and interest in this type of work, is encouraged to apply including freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and not-yet-graduating seniors. The NASA project has about 1.5 years left on the contract but the company is always seeking more contracts so the internship could extend beyond this contract. It is expected work could be up to 20/hrs week during the academic year, with the potential to increase the number of hours during the summer. The intern can complete most of their work in a remote setting although it is likely the selected intern will want to travel to Chugwater, WY at least once to view the company and meet the other employees they will ‘work’ with. The internship is paid. Mr. Bendel would like applicants to apply as soon as possible as they have a lot of work and they need assistance.
TO APPLY via EMAIL: 1) IMPORTANT NOTICE: in the “Subject” line, put – Applying to Internship from UWYO Ann Jones
Doing this lets Mr. Bendel know to open the email with the resume attachment; otherwise, they do not open attachments at their office.
2) Attach your resume and email it to Timothy Bendel, President at Timothy.Bendel@FrontierAstronautics.com
