Mountain Cement Company Engineering Position
This position's prime objective is to reduce maintenance costs and improve equipment reliability through the implementation of a predictive maintenance program. This is done by planning, designing, coordinating, scheduling and supervising corrective maintenance projects assigned by the Maintenance Manager. The Plant Engineer must promote environmental/safety compliance at all times.
Responsibilities:
The Plant Engineer works with personnel from all MCC departments to develop and implement repair/retrofits/new machinery to improve production and/or meet regulatory constraints/requirements. This individual's responsibilities include but are not inclusive of:
1) Compliance with all MSHA federal and State of Wyoming safety rules/regulations, and/or observance of MCC company policies at all time.
2) Compliance with all federal, State of Wyoming, and/or local environmental rules and regulations at all times.
3) Ensure the application of MCC plant rules of conduct, health and safety to the people he/she is overseeing.
4) Implementations of Capital and Non-Capital projects throughout MCC operation.
5) Providing leadership that establishes clear goals that are measurable and well defined. This individual should lead by example and hold himself accountable for job performance.
6) Collect and analyze maintenance history of the equipment and investigate repetitive damages, in order to evaluate effectiveness of preventative predictive maintenance and operating procedures.
7) Prepare maintenance and construction contracts, as well as plan, design, coordinate and schedule specific corrective actions.
8) Supervise contractors on maintenance projects.
9) Maintain records of costs on all project work.
10) Establish and maintain communication with suppliers, contractors, and engineering firms outside the company.
11) Participate in plant on call program.
12) Relieve key positions within Maintenance group in times of absence. This can be for periods of several months.
13) Conduct/Attend weekly safety meeting and inspect the department for unsafe working conditions and sign of equipment breakdowns in order to reduce and eliminate on-the-job lost time injuries.
Basic Requirements:
The Plant Engineer will have a formal education.
1) A minimum of a B.S. Engineering degree, electrical, mechanical or chemical.
2) Must be willing to learn all aspects of cement manufacturing.
3) Strong computer skills with a background in CAD would be preferable.
4) Integrity and ethical behavior beyond reproach.
5) Must possess good communication skills; writing, speaking, and listening effectively.
6) Team player who will achieve the goals of MCC through both internal and external personnel.

Engineer Position with the University of Wyoming
Job Purpose:
Provide engineering expertise, design, manufacturing and assembly of teaching and research activities in the College of Engineering, for the University and their associated entities. Develop, interpret and execute project plans. Maintain and fabricate systems and instrumentation for instructional and research projects.
Responsibilities:
Design, analyze, document, build, and test components and system instrumentation using Solidworks and LabVIEW. Assist with development, review and approval of design and construction documents for code and safety compliance.
Manufacture parts using conventional machines as necessary, from models and drawings. Apply engineering theory to solve mechanical, environmental, electrical, electronic, or fabrication problems as necessary to ensure satisfactorily completed projects.
Provide engineering expertise in the design of student projects, teaching tools, and research equipment such that the implementation of such equipment is successful. Design assistance may include creating, editing and revising mechanical drawings using solid models and mechanical drawings. Provide cost estimates and order materials and supplies for projects.
Provide training in the safe use of shop equipment to faculty, staff and students as required to meet the need. Advise the shop manager of potential improvements to shop performance. Participate in training workshops and seminars as necessary. Maintain a professional and courteous attitude when interacting with college staff, faculty and students. Self-schedule work assignments as necessary when the shop manager is unavailable.

Materials Technician Seasonal Positions
SolTerra Engineering, a Wyoming based Construction and Geotechnical/Civil Engineering firm, is looking for Seasonal and Summer employees for various positions. Available positions include Quality Control Technician on various highway construction projects throughout Wyoming, and Laboratory Technician positions in Laramie and Riverton Wy. The starting wage for all positions is $15 per hour after training, and there are higher wage possibilities for any personnel able to work into the fall. Commitment/Schedule:
Total of 200 hours. Weekdays, June through August, with some flexibility around class schedules, weather, etc.

Laramie, WY (approx. 4.5 miles south of the university)

Maintenance of approximately 50 acres of vegetation in the Integrated Phytoremediation / Greenbelt project at the south loop portion of the Laramie River Greenbelt Trail. Mowing grass with a riding mower, monitoring tree health, operating/maintaining irrigation systems, performing preventive maintenance on equipment, and related tasks. This work contributes to a valued recreational resource enjoyed by many in the community.
Requirements:
Dependable, hard-working individual at least 18 years of age who is able to follow instructions, comply with safety procedures, and work independently in an outdoor setting. Farm/ranch, landscaping, or similar experience is required. Mechanical aptitude/experience operating and maintaining powered equipment is desirable. Geotechnical Engineer - Internship
The right intern should thrive in a fast-paced, client service-based environment. NARUC Summer Intern – Commission Technical Staff
Agency Hiring Range: $5,000
Department: Public Service Commission, Administration
Location: Cheyenne
Duration of Employment: 10 weeks
Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
As part of the 2021 Energy Internship Program sponsored by the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissions (NARUC), the Wyoming Public Service Commission (“WPSC”) is seeking a graduate student interested in the energy/utility sector for a ten-week internship. The selected intern will work at the Wyoming Public Service Commission’s office in Cheyenne, Wyoming.
Essential Functions:
· Under direct supervision, conducts in-depth research on topics of regulatory interest to the Commission, which may include investigation of natural gas, electricity, pipeline, telecommunications, or water regulation issues;
· Assists technical staff in the analysis, investigation, and evaluation of utility company applications filed with the Commission;
· Prepares memoranda and briefings on issues of regulatory interest to the Commission; and
· Assists in preparing recommendations for use by the Commission in its decision-making.
Knowledge and Skills:
· Skill in written and oral communications;
· Knowledge and ability to use computer hardware and software;
· Ability in the interpretation, evaluation and analysis of financial/statistical and/or engineering information and concepts;
· Ability to organize and analyze data sets with computer software;
· Knowledge or courses of study in one or more of the following areas: accounting, business, economics, engineering, statistics or finance; and
· Ability to work alone or in a team environment.
Minimum Qualifications:
A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Accounting, Economics, Statistics, or a related field from an accredited college or university and currently enrolled in/attending graduate school or a recent graduate.

IT Intern with Aristatek
AristaTek, a Laramie business established in 1999, develops, sells, and supports Windows applications and web-based services for Hazmat first responders and community planners. Our software and services provide technical reference, numerical hazard modeling, incident management, mapping, and worst case release hazard analysis to support and protect responders who run towards danger when everyone else is running away.
Our IT group is currently seeking an individual to assist with internal IT Support. We are looking for someone who has IT support and programming skills. We would be interested in looking at them doing 75% IT work and 25% programming.
Skills needed:
IT support work (primary focus)
1. Able to install OS and applications
2. Able to install hardware (memory, hard drives, video cards, etc)
3. Able to monitor various internal systems and provide management reports
4. Able to provide assistance to local and remote users with OS and applications questions
5. Able to assist with various administrative tasks relative to tracking and supporting computers.
6. Able to write and execute software test cases and procedures.
Programming work (secondary focus):
1. Able to follow test plan to test commercial software
2. Using C/C++/C#/VBScript, able to write small applications to help Automate administrative tasks
3. Using HTML and ASP, able to update and enhance existing websites
4. Using C/C++/C# (If programming skill is sufficient), able to code small modules for shipping commercial applications
Hours:
10-20 hours a week for Spring and Fall semesters with an opportunity to work 30-40 hours in the Summer of 2021.
Hourly rate: $9.50/hr or more dependent on experience and skills
