Two New Trauma-Related Topic Area Summaries
This month, the CEBC is sharing two new topic area summaries that focus on the treatment of trauma for both adults and children and adolescents. For both groups, the trauma(s) may be witnessed or experienced and can occur in many forms including physical abuse, sexual abuse or assault, neglect, domestic violence, community violence, war, natural disasters, and more.

Trauma Treatment (Adult)
Many parents and caretakers involved in the child welfare system experienced trauma themselves in their childhood or adolescence and have never received treatment related to these experiences. The CEBC’s Trauma Treatment (Adult) topic area includes treatment developed to assist adults in coping with the effects that come from experiencing trauma. Trauma Treatments – Client-Level Interventions (Child & Adolescent)
The CEBC’s Trauma Treatment – Client-Level Interventions (Child & Adolescent) topic area includes interventions designed to help an individual process a trauma or multiple traumas they have experienced and learn how to cope with the feelings associated with the experience (e.g., fear, posttraumatic stress, anxiety, depression, etc.). This brief overview of the topic highlights all programs within the Trauma Treatment – Client-Level Interventions (Child & Adolescent) topic area, including 24 rated programs. Child- and family-serving professionals provide crucial support to parents, caregivers, children, and adolescents who experience the effects of trauma in the aftermath of violence. Early Bird Registration Now Open for the 2023 Chadwick Conference
The 38th Annual San Diego International Conference on Child and Family Maltreatment hosted by the Chadwick Center is scheduled for January 21–27, 2023. Designed to provide education and connection opportunities for professionals in the field of child maltreatment and trauma, topic highlights for this coming year’s conference include the intersection of trauma-informed care and racial justice, addressing secondary traumatic stress and burnout in the workforce, leadership strategies to support staff, and many more!

Introduction to Motivational Interviewing
