Introducing our New Head of School, Keshia Medellin!
A Message from Lily Harris, Academic Dean:

Dear Parents, Guardians, and Students,

CEC Parker has gone through some changes in the past school year with the resignation of two Heads of School. Despite these changes, CEC Parker has remained steadfast in the education of our students, earning the Charter School Institute’s School of Distinction Award 2021 for outstanding performance in all areas and The John Irwin Award for the sixth year in a row for outstanding academic performance over time. In addition, I want to highlight the great work and strength of our faculty and staff according to our students. On recent Gallup Poll student climate and on course surveys, students overwhelmingly indicated that they have a trusted adult in the building that they can go to in times of need. Overall, in the course surveys students indicated that they enjoy their classes and their teachers, in particular, students remarked how accommodating and caring their teachers are. I bring this up to highlight that CEC Parker has been and remains not only an award-winning school for academics but also a school of caring educators and staff who want to see students succeed in all areas of their lives.

Because of this and so much more, it has been an honor and a privilege to serve as Interim Head of School and I look forward to refocusing on my role of Academic Dean, working closely again with our dedicated instructors to continue improving the way we serve our students. It is also a great honor to introduce a Head of School who has a consistent record of working tirelessly to serve school communities at CEC and elsewhere. I am thrilled to welcome her onto our CEC Leadership Team and to begin building an even more robust and thriving educational community. Please welcome Keshia Medellin, our new CEC Parker Head of School.

Sincerely,

Lily Harris, MFA

A Message from Keshia Medellin, Head of School:

Dear Parents, Guardians, and Students of CEC Parker,

I am humbled and honored to be given the opportunity to serve as the new Head of School starting February 7. For the last 20 years, I have been an educator. I spent many years as a college and high school teacher. Eight years ago, I helped open CEC Parker as a college teacher. I spent 4 years teaching at CEC Parker, then moved into a new role where I joined another school’s leadership team and became an instructional coach. Two years ago, I returned to CEC Castle Rock and helped the school open as the Academic Dean. Now, I am excited to come into this new role and be able to get to work.

There is a quote I love, “Use education to accomplish your grandparents' wildest dreams.” I believe intensely in the power that education can be used to change lives, engender hope, and create opportunity. When I think about CEC’s mission and I distill it down to its essence, it is about providing opportunities for our students. Every day, students have the opportunity to grow, academically and personally, the opportunity to experience and display kindness, and the opportunity to make connections and feel seen. Each day, students get the choice to grab ahold of those opportunities, reap the benefits, and accomplish their dreams. I will work hard to continue CECP’s legacy of academic excellence, but also a place that supports and cares for all students and staff.

I am looking forward to building a strong partnership with the CECP community. To jump-start that partnership, I invite you to a meet and greet. Please come and chat with me. They will be held during the days and times below. I look forward to meeting you all.
