Important: Open Campus Reminder!
|
|
CECP permits students who meet certain requirements to leave campus during periods for which they are not scheduled for class with this signed Permission Slip and when all other criteria are met. Open campus is a privilege and CECP maintains the right to revoke the open campus privilege of any student that does not adhere to the guidelines and procedures.
From the Student/Family Handbook:
CEC Parker has adopted a limited open-campus policy as a privilege for students. The policy permits students in good standing, to leave school grounds for CEC Parker approved purposes, including classes off campus and the time designated for lunch with parent opt-in permission. Students must be aware that, when they leave school grounds, they are required to return to school in time for their next class.
Attendance is taken every period and any student who fails to return to class or arrives late will face the consequences outlined in the discipline code. Students who leave the building during the school day will not be allowed to loiter in the parking lot or on any other school grounds.
Additionally, students need to be aware that all driving laws, including limited passenger restrictions on provisional licenses, will be strictly enforced by local law enforcement. Please be aware that the open campus and lunch privileges can be revoked at any time for anyone who has attendance, academic, or behavior problems as determined by the school.
|
|
Please remember that skateboards/longboards are not allowed to be used on campus property. We understand that some students ride them to and from school and that is okay for transportation. But on campus they need to be left at the front desk during the day.

Congratulations to Ethan Wolfe, Student of the Month for December, and Aezlyn McLean, Student of the Month for January!
Ethan Wolfe
Ethan would like to attend the Colorado School of Mines after graduating from CECP and go into civil engineering to become a city planner. Ethan is involved in Student Council (Secretary), Math Club (Co-president), NHS, Student Ambassadors, Theater, and serves on the Restorative Justice Panel. He works for the City of Parker as a lifeguard and plays drums, flute, and percussion for the Douglas County Youth Orchestra. For fun, Ethan likes to read.
Here's what the teachers had to say:
- “Ethan is one of the co-presidents and founders of our Math Honor Society - Mu Alpha Theta. He works tirelessly for our group's activities (remember the math escape room at the fall festival?!)”
- “Ethan is incredibly attentive and mature. He focuses on learning, and while certainly enjoys high grades, he constantly seeks to gain further knowledge and application. I've never heard him ask how he can get an A, but rather he is inquisitive on mastering concepts and stretching his leadership abilities. Whether it's trying his hand at the role of Oberon in the school play, or completing a science experiment, he's always prepared and striving to give his best.”
- “Ethan has been a wonderful addition to the student ambassador program at CECP. He is always willing to go the extra mile to assist with school events. In addition, he has helped support various students who are struggling academically or socially. Ethan has done a fantastic job representing our school as a student ambassador, and I know he will continue to make many positive contributions to our school community. I feel very lucky to work with students like Ethan!”
- “Aezlyn and Ethan both embody the essence of caring individuals, they both go out of their way to make sure things get done and do their best to support their fellow students. They both have a selfless nature that stands out in how encompassing it is.”
Aezlyn McLean
After graduating from CECP in May, Aezlyn will attend CU Denver and major in Music and Arts. She is a member of NHS, Student Council, Student Ambassadors, Interact, Theater, and serves on the Restorative Justice Panel. For fun, Aezlyn plays the piano, guitar (including bass), and sings in the Young Voices of Colorado. She loves to bake and works at the La Petite Creperie in Parker.
Here's what the teachers had to say:
- “I've had the pleasure of being Aezlyn's academic advisor throughout her high school career, and I've witnessed the exceptional contributions she has made to the CEC community. Aezlyn is a fantastic student, an excellent student ambassador, and a gifted singer/actor. Aezlyn is always willing to help others, and her kindness and dedication are appreciated by CEC staff and students. I know she will bring the same warmth, hard work, and dedication to all of her future endeavors!”
- “Aezlyn was in my COM125 class and brings such a gentle and calm energy to the environment! She is quick to engage in small or large group discussions and is very attentive!”
- “Aezlyn is an amazing student- very proactive in getting the help she needs, always such a joy to have in class and in tutoring.”
- “Aezlyn and Ethan both embody the essence of caring individuals, they both go out of their way to make sure things get done and do their best to support their fellow students where they are at. They both have a selfless nature that stands out in how encompassing it is.”
