What steps can families take to support their student's active career exploration?
Meaningful career conversations that encourage students to explore, investigate and train in occupations that are in high demand in our economy are going to make a difference for our children.
Pikes Peak Business & Edcation Alliance (PPBEA) has partnered with more than 400 career representatives to create over 700 career-connected learning opportunities for teachers and students to explore.
- View upcoming events on the calendar.
- Set up a parent account in the PPBEA MARKETPLACE.
- Look through the opportunities like job shadows, internships and youth apprenticeships with your student.
- Encourage your student to participate!
- Access the RESOURCE page for economic information and labor market statistics that can help inform your student’s college and career choices.
- Join in your student's Advising/ICAP appointments to discuss more ideas with their advisor.

What do you love about CECCS?
When I first applied to work at CECCS, I was inspired by the mission statement. I love that at CECCS we make it our mission to serve ALL students. All students are valued and honored in our building. I love serving the students and families of CECCS.
Who did you look up to when you were in school and why?
My role model when I was in high school was my Theatre Arts Teacher, Siobhan Brewer. She started working at my high school my junior year. She taught me how to be a better thespian and how to be a better version of myself. She is who inspired me to go to college become a Theatre Arts Teacher so that I could provide students with a safe, creative space to express themselves.
What advice would you give students that you wish you had when you were in school?
I wish that I would have taken the time to just enjoy being a kid still. I was extremely worried about growing up, graduating, and getting out on my own, but I wish I would have enjoyed living in the moment. Time is something that we can never get back, so be present and enjoy the gift of time.

MIDDLE SCHOOL COURTYARD GRAND OPENING
Friday, Sept. 13th
This Friday, CECCS celebrated the completion of the long awaited Middle School Courtyard! Fun games and activities for middle school students were hosted by Student Council. Additionally, Mr. Bradley & Ms. T got many cold plunges in the dunk tank! Fun was had by all. We are so excited to have this new space on our campus!

MIDDLE SCHOOL MAKERS
At CECCS, our students love to create! We enjoy seeing what our students creatively craft, from various foods in Ms. Peter's cooking class, woodworking projects in Mr. May's class, and robots in Ms. Tenboer's robotics class. This week, we are featuring Robotics class and some of their recent projects. Great job, Mountaineers!

9th GRADE SUCCESS PROGRAM
We are excited to share that our 9th grade Success Program is off to a great start! In August, we focused on the theme of CLIMB (Care Lead, Inspire, Make a Difference, and Belong). We held our inaugural Freshmen Olympics where students competed in a variety of physical and mental challenges. Our September themes include Self-Awareness, Goal Setting, and Strengths. Many of our freshman have been recognized for demonstrating the character traits of CLIMB at our weekly assembly including:

NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY APPLICATION CLOSES 9/17!
The CECCS Chapter of NHS minimum requirements to apply:
- Be in 10th-12th grade
- Cumulative GPA of 3.5 (ask your advisor to verify)
- Demonstrated history of community service
NOTE: The application has two parts: One is the student application and the second is the required recommendations. It is the studen't responsibility to give their recommenders advance notice of the deadline.
The deadline for both parts is Sept. 17th.
Q: When will I find out if I am accepted?
A: After the deadline, all completed applications and recommendations will be reviewed by the faculty council. Applicants will be informed of their acceptance status on Monday, September 23rd by email and if on-campus a written letter.
For those selected, the induction ceremony is scheduled on Wednesday, October 2nd. Details and event time will be shared in the acceptance letter.

¿Qué es lo que más te gusta de CECCS?
Cuando solicité por primera vez trabajar en CECCS, me inspiró la declaración de la misión. Me encanta que en CECCS nuestra misión sea servir a TODOS los estudiantes. Todos los estudiantes son valorados y honrados en nuestro edificio. Me encanta servir a los estudiantes y las familias de CECCS.
¿A quién admirabas cuando estabas en la escuela y por qué?
Mi modelo a seguir cuando estaba en el instituto era mi profesora de teatro, Siobhan Brewer. Empezó a trabajar en mi instituto en mi penúltimo año. Me enseñó a ser mejor actriz y a ser una mejor versión de mí misma. Ella fue quien me inspiró para ir a la universidad y convertirme en profesora de teatro para poder ofrecer a los estudiantes un espacio seguro y creativo para expresarse.
¿Qué consejo les daría a los estudiantes que desearía haber recibido cuando estaba en la escuela?
Ojalá me hubiera tomado tiempo para disfrutar de seguir siendo un niño. Me preocupaba mucho crecer, graduarme y salir por mi cuenta, pero ojalá hubiera disfrutado viviendo el momento. El tiempo es algo que nunca podemos recuperar, así que sé presente y disfruta del regalo del tiempo.

GRAN INAUGURACIÓN DEL PATIO DE LA ESCUELA MEDIA
Viernes, 13 de septiembre
¡Este viernes, CECCS celebró la finalización del tan esperado Patio de la Escuela Intermedia! El Consejo Estudiantil organizó divertidos juegos y actividades para los alumnos de la escuela media. Además, Mr. T se zambulleron en el tanque de agua fría. Todos se divirtieron. ¡Estamos muy contentos de tener este nuevo espacio en nuestro campus!

MAKERS DE SECUNDARIA
En CECCS, a nuestros estudiantes les encanta crear. Disfrutamos viendo lo que nuestros estudiantes hacen creativamente, desde varios alimentos en la clase de cocina de la Sra. Peter, proyectos de carpintería en la clase del Sr. May, y robots en la clase de robótica de la Sra. Tenboer. Esta semana, estamos presentando la clase de Robótica y algunos de sus proyectos recientes. ¡Gran trabajo, Mountaineers!

PROGRAMA DE ÉXITO DE 9º CURSO
Estamos muy contentos de compartir que nuestro Programa de Éxito de noveno grado ha tenido un gran comienzo. En agosto, nos enfocamos en el tema de CLIMB (Care Lead, Inspire, Make a Difference, and Belong). Tuvimos nuestras olimpiadas inaugurales de primer año donde los estudiantes compitieron en una variedad de retos físicos y mentales. Nuestros temas de septiembre incluyen el autoconocimiento, la fijación de objetivos y las fortalezas. DIVERSIÓN EN EL CAMPO
Esta semana, dos excursiones especiales tuvieron lugar en la escuela secundaria: La clase de Liderazgo al Aire Libre fue a escalar en CityRock (ver abajo), y los estudiantes de 9º a 12º grado que exploran la industria de la construcción obtuvieron una gran experiencia práctica durante el Día de la Carrera de Construcción en el Centro de Eventos Norris Penrose. ¡Gracias a todos los que asistieron a estos viajes únicos!

Del 1 al 24 de octubre.
¡El asesoramiento es especialmente importante en el otoño para establecer la elegibilidad de graduación y para empezar a conseguir todos los patos de graduación en una fila!
Un correo electrónico será enviado a todos los estudiantes de 12 º grado y las familias antes del 17 de septiembre. Por favor, regístrese lo antes posible para una mejor disponibilidad.
No se olviden de confirmar su asistencia a la Noche de Éxito de Graduación. ¡Es requerido para los seniors!

LA SOLICITUD PARA LA SOCIEDAD NACIONAL DE HONOR SE CIERRA EL 17 DE SEPTIEMBRE
¡La organización nacional NHS ha estado reconociendo a los estudiantes por su excelencia académica y de servicio durante más de 100 años!
El Capítulo CECCS de NHS requisitos mínimos para aplicar:
- Estar en 10º-12º grado
- GPA acumulativo de 3.5 (pide a tu asesor que lo verifique)
- Historial demostrado de servicio comunitario
NOTA: La solicitud consta de dos partes: Una es la solicitud del estudiante y la segunda son las recomendaciones requeridas. Es responsabilidad del estudiante avisar con antelación a sus recomendadores de la fecha límite.
La fecha límite para ambas partes es el 17 de septiembre.
P: ¿Cuándo sabré si me aceptan?
R: Una vez finalizado el plazo, el consejo de profesores revisará todas las solicitudes y recomendaciones cumplimentadas. Se informará a los solicitantes de su aceptación el lunes 23 de septiembre por correo electrónico y, si están en el campus, por carta escrita.
Para los seleccionados, la ceremonia de inducción está programada para el miércoles 2 de octubre. Los detalles y la hora del evento se comunicarán en la carta de aceptación.
