Students: Looking for a Job?

A Call for Community Volunteers

CEC Food Services is looking for volunteers to assist in the daily operation of our Fort Collins McMurry and Innovation schools' Point of Sale (POS) during lunch service. This is a great opportunity to serve our schools and interact with students!

Volunteers must be comfortable operating an iPad (systems training will be provided), balancing a cash drawer, and working with ease and efficiency during periods of lunch rush. The POS volunteer will also assist Food Service staff to maintain and stock the cafeteria's salad bar.

Hours of service are Monday to Friday (excluding school holidays and inservice) from 10:40 a.m. - 12:50 p.m. Volunteers earn a free, scratch cooked meal, based on the schools' rotating lunch menu. Please email Kristin Maxwell to inquire and learn more!

Host an International Student

Host Families are welcome to begin applying now for hosting international students at CEC for the 2024-2025 School year! Families can host for an entire academic year or a semester.

Families need to provide a place to sleep, a place to study, transportation to and from school and some activities, as well as food.

Students come with their own spending money and are wanting to experience the typical American lifestyle with a family.

Reach out to Christina Galloway at [email protected] in order to express interest!

Robotics Rocks!

CEC FC HS Robotics Teams competed in the VEX Robotics State Championships on March 2nd. This tournament was filled with the highest level of competition the VEX region of Colorado State has to offer. With 32 total teams at the HS tournament, CEC teams 99751F, X, and Z all battled throughout the day to qualify for a ranking. Once rankings were set, CEC teams were as listed:

99751F - Rank 4

99751Z - Rank 6

99751X - Rank 19

The teams then delegated, based off of rankings, for Alliance members in the final elimination bracket. The Alliances our teams made were with other teams from across northern Colorado. During the final elimination bracket, our 99751X fought hard but lost in the round of 16. The other two teams battled through the Quarter finals to meet head-to-head in the Semifinals. 99751Z and their alliance partner fought well against 99751F and their teammate. However, 99751F came out on top as they proceeded to the Final Championship round of the State Championships.

99751F tried to withhold their own in the final matches, but they lost a best of 3 match playoff for the championship. Although CEC FC HS has come close to two State Championships in the past two years as 2nd place finishers, we are so grateful for our opportunities to grow, learn, and strive for success in a cooperatively competitive community across Colorado. We are so proud of all of our teams here at CEC FC HS Robotics.

Due to being a Finalist at State, 99751F has been invited to participate at the VEX Robotics Worlds Championships in Dallas, Texas on April 25th - 27th

If you feel like helping support our 99751F team travel to the Worlds Championships, please consider donating to the CEC FC HS Robotics program as their goal is reach $3000 total to help pay for travel and the $1800 tournament registration fee.

Shout out to our Fearless Robotics Leader, Evan Mesh, for leading his students to success!

  • Team 2: Aiden A. and Wesley R. is a new team and finished 70% of the challenge questions.

Everyone is welcome!

No volunteering, no commitment.

Our Parent Resource Group meetings are friendly and casual, a place for parents to meet other CEC families and share stories, ask questions, and find information. Any questions brought up are placed as an agenda item for our SAC (School Accountability Committee) meetings with CEC Leadership.

We all meet regularly to have fun and organize events. Be part of our team! Visit our website or email [email protected] if you're interested.
