Happy Labor Day! This is a reminder that the school will be closed on Monday, September 2nd, for Labor Day. Tuesday, September 3rd is a Staff Professional Development day. We look forward to seeing students return to school on Wednesday, September 4th. Enjoy your long weekend!

The five-minute change was made to ensure that our students have time to listen to School Announcements at the end of 3rd period without taking any class time away. FC Museum of Discovery Needs Music Lovers! | |

Applications are Due TOMORROW, September 1st!!!
Fort Collins Museum of Discovery is looking for dedicated youth to take part in a once-in-a-lifetime experience—being part of the FCMoD Squad! The FCMoD Squad are individuals between the ages of 15 and 19 who are interested in becoming more involved within the Fort Collins Museum of Discovery, the Front Range music scene, and the Fort Collins community.
What Is the FCMoD Squad?
The Squad is an essential voice of the museum! A Squad member will find themselves gaining all kinds of experience by regularly attending Squad meetings and at least one field trip to a fun location per month. They will also have the opportunity to work behind-the-scenes in music and community-led events such as Sonic Spotlight and the annual Teen Self-Care Fair, learn valuable information about how a museum works and operates, and provide insight into current and future programs, events, and exhibits.
Applications are open to teens living in the Fort Collins/Front Range area. Submissions will open July 1st- September 1st, with interviews to follow.

All students who are planning to graduate in the 2024-25 school year and at least one parent/guardian are highly encouraged to attend this in person graduation planning meeting on Thursday, September 19 @ 5:00 pm. We will meet in the auditorium at the CECFC High School located at 4424 Innovation Drive. The meeting will cover a variety of topics including but not limited to:
- Graduation requirements, forms, fees, and ceremony info
- College admissions, scholarships, and FAFSA
- Transcripts
- Diploma distinctions, honors, and requirements
- Orders for cap, gown, tassel, announcements, and other items
- Nominations for senior class speaker and keynote speaker

The season just started! There is still time to join us on Thursdays from 3-4pm in the HS Gym! The season started yesterday and will go through November 21st. We will play for fun, competition, and exercise. Teams will be co-ed and open to all skill levels.
Please email Coach at chris.domanicali@coloradoearlycolleges.org to sign up or ask any questions (all that is needed to sign up is student name and intent to play).
If we have enough sign ups/interest, we will add a second day/week, most likely Monday.

We are actively working on a solution to correct this issue. Please refer to the above graphic for the correct information until we are able to correct the information on the student IDs.

Are you new to CEC? Were you inducted into the NASSP National Honor Society at your previous school? If so, we would like to invite you to transfer your membership to the CEC Chapter of the NHS. The transfer deadline is Sunday, September 22, 2024 at 11:59 p.m.
To transfer your membership, please have your previous advisor email a letter of good standing confirmation to Mrs. Wilhelm, the CEC NHS advisor, at colleen.wilhelm@coloradoearlycolleges.org. Please remember to give them enough time to fill the request. We also suggest that you copy Mrs. Wilhelm on the request.

The Hua Xing Chinese School is a Chinese language and culture school. A few CEC teachers have partnered with the school to offer classes for the entire community. Classes like Chinese language, Adult English Learning, Textiles, Dance, Tai Chi, Art, and more are offered!
Classes are open to anyone who would like to participate! All languages and cultures are welcome!

Illnesses: Please DO NOT SEND students to school if they are ill.

Students must stay home for at least 24 hours after a fever has resolved without fever reducing medications to lower the fever

Students must stay home for at least 24 hours after vomiting and/or diarrhea without medications to reduce those symptoms

If your student has missed [5 consecutive days] or [7 days in a two-week period] due to illness, please provide medical documentation for these absences to be excused.

Hearing and Vision: Free screenings will be conducted this fall, please contact the health office for more information or questions.

Medications: If your student needs to take medications while at school, please contact the health office for required documentation.

No volunteering, no commitment.
Our Parent Resource Group meetings are friendly and casual, a place for parents to meet other CEC families and share stories, ask questions, and find information. Any questions brought up are placed as an agenda item for our SAC (School Accountability Committee) meetings with CEC Leadership.
SAC includes the Head of School (or designee), along with parents and community members, to offer guidance on academic action plans, budget priorities, safety issues and other areas.
