High School Student & Parent Newsletter 4/30/2021
Finals Week is Here!!!
Believe it or not, next Wednesday, May 6th, is the beginning of Finals! Students will be expected to attend all classes as usual through the end of the year.
Finals have been staggered by subject so students won't be overloaded on any given day; however, all students should attend all classes following their regular class schedule each day through the end of the year.
Students taking finals remotely need to ensure they have a clear, quiet space to work. Microphones and cameras must be on throughout the entire test so the proctor can ensure all guidelines are being followed.
You have made it through a really difficult year - let's finish just as strong!!!

Finals Schedule: (check with your teachers - this may vary)
  • Thursday 5/6: Math & Science
  • Friday 5/7: English & Humanities (Project & Essay turn-in deadline)
  • Monday 5/10: Electives, Science, remaining MWF college finals
  • Tuesday 5/11: Math, Electives, remaining T/Th college finals
  • Wednesday 5/12: as needed...
Textbook & Laptop Return - It's That Time...
Students, the end of the year is upon us! Students should bring their books & borrowed Laptops directly to the bookstore as soon as they no longer need them for a class. If the bookstore is closed, please drop your books in the return slot next to the window. Remote students are welcome to drop books at the front desk if they do not want to risk entering too far into the building.

Books and laptops that are not returned by 3:00pm on Wednesday, May 12th will be assessed a Late Fee and may be subject to the replacement cost of the item.

If you have questions, please contact the CECFCHS Bookstore. Thank you!
Attention: Choir Students & Families!
As you have most likely figured out, there are no choir concerts this year due to the restrictions that are in place. In place of a concert, both choirs will be singing together after-school on Monday, May 3, from 3-5 pm. This will be a time to gather as one group and to work on the pieces they have learned this semester. This will also be a time to celebrate our SENIORS and say goodbye them.
This after-school rehearsal/sing is your student's Final. Attendance is imperative! If they cannot attend, your student must arrange ahead of time to take an alternative final.
Please pick your student up from CEC at 5pm, Monday, May 3. Feel free to reach out to Mrs. Wells-McCreery if you have any questions!!!
Attendance Phone # Change
As some of you have already discovered, our original attendance phone number is no longer in service. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.
To report absences, or if your student is having to work remotely for the day, please call or email:

CEC Celebration Tree
Students, It has been a year... We all have things we want to leave behind, and we all have things we want to celebrate. Stop by the Wolf Den and add these ideas to our Celebration Tree! Make a leaf or a flower to add to the crown of the tree that marks something you are celebrating. Make another to add to the bottom of the tree that marks something you are leaving behind. There are boxes to put your leaf or flower in so it can be added anonymously, but you can always sign your name if you like! See you in the Wolf Den!
It's your last chance to schedule a tutoring session before Finals!

Tutoring is available in math, science, English, French, Spanish, social sciences, and psychology. Please check that the tutor you choose provides tutoring in the subject you need. We look forward to working with you! Please remember that appointments must be canceled at least 24 hours in advance to avoid a $20 fee.

Boettcher Foundation Scholarship Webinars
Students, As you begin looking ahead to the process of applying to colleges and scholarships, we wanted to let you know that the Boettcher Foundation will be hosting some webinars on "Everything You Need to Know About Scholarships." During these webinars, we will go over how students can "ACE" their college and scholarship applications, including tips on how to make their applications stand out. You can register to attend one of the webinars by clicking on the Sign Up button below and selecting the date you wish to attend. Attendance numbers are limited, so please only register if you will be able to watch the webinar during the scheduled date and time. You only need to attend one:
Webinar Dates: May 1; May 5; May 11: May 20
If you cannot attend any of these webinars, you can still access an abbreviated version of the presentation via a video on the FAQs page of our website (located under the question asking if the Boettcher Foundation provides resources on how to be competitive in a scholarship application.) For more information, view the Boettcher Scholarship Flier.
Charter School Families - We Need Your Help
Earlier this week, House Bill 1295 was officially introduced at the Colorado State Capitol. If passed, this damaging bill would significantly hurt public charter schools by making it virtually impossible to challenge district decisions against them.
Please take two minutes to learn more about the bill and add your voice to the thousands of charter school families, staff, and supporters telling legislators to vote "NO" on this dangerous proposal.
We should be basing all of our education decisions as a state on what is in the best interest of our students. This legislation would fundamentally undermine that.
Thank you for adding your voice to support the power of choice for students!
