High School Student & Parent Newsletter 5/14/2021
Congratulations & Thank you!
All of us at CEC would like to thank our extraordinary families and students for an incredibly challenging and rewarding school year.

Parents and Guardians, we know how difficult it has been, and we want to extend our sincere gratitude for your support and willingness to adjust with us to meet the new and unexpected demands placed upon us throughout the year.

Please make sure you have filled out our Parent Survey, sent out this past Wednesday via Email & Text. We would very much like to hear your feedback so we can continue improving how we serve our students and their families.

Students, we are so proud of how so many of you stepped up and exceeded our expectations this year! We feel that this message says it best....

Dear Students,
You made it. Take this moment to stand still and feel your feet on the ground and the sun on your face.
Remember you are capable. You can do difficult things.
Remember that many difficult things are worth it.
And most of all, remember that sometimes holding steady against the wind and just surviving is enough.
Congratulations and have a beautiful summer!

Boettcher Foundation Scholarship Webinars
Students, As you begin looking ahead to the process of applying to colleges and scholarships, we wanted to let you know that the Boettcher Foundation will be hosting some webinars on "Everything You Need to Know About Scholarships." During these webinars, we will go over how students can "ACE" their college and scholarship applications, including tips on how to make their applications stand out. You can register to attend one of the webinars by clicking on the Sign Up button below and selecting the date you wish to attend. Attendance numbers are limited, so please only register if you will be able to watch the webinar during the scheduled date and time. You only need to attend one:
Webinar Dates: May 1; May 5; May 11: May 20
If you cannot attend any of these webinars, you can still access an abbreviated version of the presentation via a video on the FAQs page of our website (located under the question asking if the Boettcher Foundation provides resources on how to be competitive in a scholarship application.) For more information, view the Boettcher Scholarship Flier.
Charter School Families - We Need Your Help
Earlier last week, House Bill 1295 was officially introduced at the Colorado State Capitol. If passed, this damaging bill would significantly hurt public charter schools by making it virtually impossible to challenge district decisions against them.
Please take two minutes to learn more about the bill and add your voice to the thousands of charter school families, staff, and supporters telling legislators to vote "NO" on this dangerous proposal.
We should be basing all of our education decisions as a state on what is in the best interest of our students. This legislation would fundamentally undermine that.
Thank you for adding your voice to support the power of choice for students!
