CECFC Middle School Newsletter
February 26th, 2021
Our school has been celebrating kindness this past week! Students have been showing their appreciation for each other by nominating anyone who has done a Random Act of Kindness. Students have also been able to fill out teacher appreciation notes that are dropped off in the cafeteria. The drawing for gift card prizes has been postponed and will take place this week for both cohorts. There's still time, so be sure to fill out a survey to nominate someone!
CECFC MS is hosting our annual Food Drive! All students are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items and toiletries to their second period teacher beginning March 1st. There is a prize for the class that brings in the most goods! Suggestions include canned goods, pasta, rice, dried beans, toothpaste, bar soap, disposable masks, diapers, hand sanitizer, shampoo, etc. Please contact Allison.Straubing@coloradoearlycolleges.org if you have any questions.
The graph below will be updated each week to help keep you informed of any Covid cases reported to the school. We will only include information on probable or confirmed cases of staff or students that have been in the school within 2 weeks of the designation. If your student is in close contact with any staff or other students who are a confirmed or probable case, we will contact you directly with specific information. We ask that you please continue to contact the school Health Office if your student is showing any Covid-19 symptoms or has been exposed to someone with Covid-19.
Our MS yearbook is still happening! Expect the unexpected with a documented historic 2020-2021 school year! Time is running out! Reserve your copy today! Order a Yearbook by clicking the button below!
We would love to include photos of your student studying, playing out-of-school sports, participating in activities (zoom or safe in-person), anything from youth group activities, to building a snowman, to skiing, to taking your dog on walks through your neighborhood. This yearbook is to capture everything CEC students did this year!

Students must please remember to bring their own personal water bottles. Due to Covid-19, our water fountains have been shut off for safety precautions. Water bottles in our Health Office are reserved for students that are not feeling well. Please remember to label all water bottles that are brought to school.
Math and Language Arts Assessments for grades 6th - 8th will be the week of March 29th, with make-up testing the following week. 8th grade Science Assessments will begin April 20th. Students will test on their in-person days. More information will come soon, including information on how to opt out of CMAS testing.
Our middle school is looking forward to working in our garden again! If you have any gently used garden supplies that you won't be needing any longer, we would love to take them off your hands! Please contact Mrs. Hughes for donation drop off at: Heather.Hughes@coloradoearlycolleges.org

We would like to invite you to one of our meetings to connect with other parents and the school. You are welcome to give feedback, share stories, bring up concerns, suggestions or ask questions. Research shows that when parents are involved in their children’s education, they benefit emotionally, socially, and academically. No volunteering or commitment is requested. Join us!
