CECFC Middle School Newsletter

IT'S THAT TIME OF YEAR....
Parents: Your child is outside for at least 20 minutes every day,
unless the temperature is below 20 degrees.

Please ensure they have proper attire for cold weather: coat, hat, gloves/mittens.
We are not able to allow students to stay inside during outside recess.

Thank you for your cooperation!

CECFC MIDDLE SCHOOL HONOR ROLL
The CECFCMS Honor Roll is new to our school this year; students must earn and maintain a GPA of 3.75 or higher to be placed on the CECFCMS Honor Roll each quarter. Although our middle school operates using semesters, the honor roll will be published quarterly to give students four chances (four quarters) to earn their place on the Honor Roll, instead of just two chances (two semesters); this is to ensure more opportunities are provided for students to earn this highly respected honor.

We applaud our student's commitment to their academics! The teachers and staff at CECFC MS hope this success our student's have achieved thus far will become the foundation for even bigger accomplishments in their future!

NJHS MEETING
A reminder that our next NJHS meeting will be this Monday, January 10th, in room 220.
PARENTS OF 8TH GRADERS: PLEASE READ!
8th grade parents, please read your student's syllabus. Our 8th grade late policy has changed. Instead of losing 10% per day late, students will now lose 25% on any late day turned in, as long as the unit is still being taught. This applies to Elevate, English, Science and Social Science classes. If you have any questions, please reach out to your student's 8th grade teacher for these classes.
LOST, BUT NOT FOUND...
A pair of glasses and a set of Invisalign braces were found on the playground before winter break. No one has claimed them yet, but if they are yours, you can find them in Mrs. Cable's office on the first floor.

COVID-19 PROTOCOLS AND UPDATES
COVID-19 Safety Protocols
  • The guidance that our health department follows in determining when students need to be quarantined can be found here.
  • We will continue to encourage hand washing and frequent cleaning of high touch areas.
  • Increased ventilation and use of outdoor spaces will be implemented whenever possible.
  • Any staff or students experiencing symptoms should stay home, this is the most important practice to limit quarantines of students and staff this year. CECFC will follow CDPHE’s updated Return to Learn Guidance for determining when students and staff can return to school. Students who are home sick can still access their classes through Microsoft Teams or the community college portal. Students should check course syllabi for requirements regarding absences in each of their courses.
  • Information on the number of positive/probable cases among staff and students will be provided in the weekly newsletter. If your student is in class with a positive/probable case you will be contacted by the school so you are aware of the exposure.
  • CEC’s virtual program is available for any students wishing to learn remotely this year. More information can be found here: CECFC Online Learning.
