CECFC Middle School Newsletter
March 12th, 2021
Spring Break begins this Monday, March 15th - 19th. School will be closed.

This Sunday, March 14th,  is the start of Daylight Savings - remember to move your clocks ahead by 1 hour.

We hope you all have a safe and wonderful Spring Break!
Please see the attached letter regarding In-Person Learning Expectations as our students transition to in-person learning four days a week after Spring Break.
3/22 - 3/26
Each week we will be posting updated information regarding classes for all middle school students. Please click the button below to view the class updates.
A reminder as we approach our return to in-person learning. We will continue to stagger student drop off times in the mornings to avoid congestion. Please try to follow your designated drop off time as much as possible.

Drop off times are as follows:
6th grade - 7:30am
7th grade - 7:35am
8th grade - 7:40am

School starts at 7:50am.

If you choose not to drop off/pick up your student(s) in the school line, you may also park along McMurry Avenue. Try to avoid parking on Monte Carlo, as this street will be very busy with traffic from our surrounding schools and businesses.
As always, students MUST use the crosswalks for their safety.
Parents, please remind your students to ALWAYS use the designated crosswalks when crossing our busy streets. Please do not allow your student to jaywalk at any time. As students return to in-person schooling, traffic will get busier making our surrounding streets more dangerous to cross. Do not park on the north side of Monte Carlo (Kruse Elementary side) and expect your student to cross the street to meet you, and do not allow your student to jaywalk across the street to the Safeway parking lot. They must use the crosswalks at all times. Parents, please also be aware of our students as they cross our streets. Our students safety is our priority!
CECFC MS hosted our annual Food Drive for the last two weeks, and what a turnout we had! We counted 1523 items! Thank you all who participated and donated. The winning class will be announced after Spring Break!
We are still celebrating our school spirit! Upon our return from Spring Break, we have two more spirit week themes - CEC Spirit Gear/Sweats Day and Passion Day! Our spirit days will now be once a week, since we will be in-person and no longer have separate cohorts. *Come dressed up and show your school spirit! (*dress code still applies)

CEC Spirit Gear/Sweats Day - Thursday, March 25th - show your CEC Wolf spirit by wearing CEC attire and/or lots of blue and gold! (note: if you're interested in purchasing your very own CEC attire, you can do so at our CECFC book store located at our HS!)

Passion Day - Thursday, April 1st - wear anything you are passionate about! A sports team, a favorite music band, a book character, a movie/tv character, a favorite food or animal, a favorite color... the possibilities are endless!
Testing week has been pushed back to Tuesday, April 20th – Thursday, April 22nd. Please see the attached letter about CMAS changes for this year. Also attached is the CMAS opt-out form. If you would like to opt your student out of CMAS testing, please complete the form and email the form to Delight Hockman. If you have any questions regarding CMAS testing, please reach out to Raychel Carpenter. More information will come soon.
Now that we are headed back to in-person learning, students must please remember to bring their own personal water bottles. Due to Covid-19, our water fountains have been shut off for safety precautions. Water bottles in our Health Office are reserved for students that are not feeling well. Please remember to label all water bottles that are brought to school.
