Character Trait:
Service to others means being unselfish.
It means doing something for someone else without expecting any reward or gain.
From Head of School, Lacey Scadden
I was so impressed with parent-teacher conferences! I am so proud and honored to be part of a school with teachers and parents who care so deeply about our students. Thank you so much for being a part of this amazing school community. One question that I heard a few times was why students don't have very much homework. As a team, we have decided to be very intentional about homework. All students have a weekly reading log, about 20 minutes a day, math homework is usually completed in class, social studies have take-home quizzes and tests, and foreign languages have homework as well. Another question that came up was about reading levels and the assessments we have done. We will be sending home the Achieve3000 Literacy letter with your students' Lexile, reading level. From there, our English and Elevate classes will spend time helping students choose appropriate books for their reading level. To see growth in reading, students should be choosing books above their current reading level. Thank you again, we are so grateful to have supportive families at CEC!

The order requires mask-wearing in all public indoor spaces for all individuals 3 years and older regardless of vaccination status.
