From Head of School, Lacey Scadden
  • We want to bring awareness to a Social Media epidemic that is plaguing school communities across the country. Fortunately, we have not had any issues here at CECFC West MS with Tiktok Challenges on our campus. We are currently still enforcing no phones at school, all day every day, as our norm. Students who are on their phones have them taken away until the end of the day. Our students have been respecting this norm and we have had very few offences. I think students enjoy the break from technology. I can't tell you how much joy it brings us to watch them play at recess, technology free. That being said there is a Tiktok Challenge that has been circulating on social media that we would like to bring awareness too. If any of these challenges were to be performed at CECFC West MS, our school community would take immediate disciplinary action. We encourage open communication with families to talk about the negative impact social media has with your kids. If you need a resource to help start the conversation, please start this TedTalk from Collin Kartchner, who came and spoke this message at CEC in Feb of 2020 Click here
