A Few Reminders

Dress Code:
CEC has created a network-wide dress code. Please view that new code here.

Lunch
Parents are welcome to bring lunch to school for their student/sit down and eat with them in our cafeteria. Parents are also welcome to take students out for lunch during their lunch hour. Please see below for the bell schedule so that you know when your student's lunch hour is.

We ask that you do not have DoorDash, GrubHub, etc. delivered to the school for your child. Lunch hour is a busy time in the front office and we do not have staff to receive, deliver, etc. these lunches. As a reminder, we also ask that you and your student do not bring food to share. At CECW, we have students that have many different food allergies and sensitivities, and we always want to be inclusive and don't want any student to feel left out due to not being part of the shared food items.

Greetings From Your Health Office

Welcome to the new school year! I would like to introduce the health office and provide a couple health related reminders. I’m Jen McGlue, the Registered Nurse at CEC. Our health tech is Amanda Atkins. Below is our contact information, please feel free to contact us if you need anything.

Immunizations:
Immunization requirements are strictly enforced by the state of Colorado for school attendance. If you have not already done so, please send us your student’s immunization records or exemptions. Exemptions rules have changed for this school year. You can find the list of required vaccines and the exemption information at https://cdphe.colorado.gov/vaccine-exemptions

Illness Guidelines:
Please don’t send an obviously sick student to school. Please do not send a student to school with any of the following:
Fever over 100 degrees. A student with a fever needs to stay home for at least 24 hours after the fever is gone without using fever reducing medications to lower the fever.
Vomiting or diarrhea within the last 24 hours.

Vision and Hearing Screening:
We will be completing hearing and vision screening for 7th graders and all new, incoming students in the fall.  These are non-invasive screenings.  We do not have dates set but will observe safety protocols related to Covid-19.  If you do not want us to screen your new or 7th grade student, please let us know.

Medications:
The health office staff cannot give medications to your student without proper documentation. If your student needs to take medications at school, please contact the health office for the proper forms.

We are excited to see your students and are looking forward to a new school year! Please feel free to contact the health office if you need anything. Stay well!

Kindly,
The CEC Health Office
