A Letter From Principal Smith
CECW Families,

Welcome to October!  The weather is beautiful and the colors in the mountains are beautiful.  I was able to take a drive along the Peak-to-Peak highway last weekend, and I am pretty sure the colors are brighter than they have ever been.  As the weather changes each year, I am reminded of how quickly time passes. Although the past few years have been filled with the trials of COVID-19, they have brought so much joy and growth to our school and within our own community. I am so grateful to be a part of this growing school and to watch all our students grow and learn every day.

We had a great spirit week this week! The students and staff had so much fun dressing up for each theme and did a wonderful job of showing off their school spirit! Be sure to check our Facebook page for some of those photos.

We have also had some great academic accomplishments this month.  Brayden R. in 8th grade, Lexie H. in 9th grade, and Olivia V. in 6th grade have all been recognized as the highest scoring student in the entire state of Colorado in Achieve 3000! CECW has held that record for two weeks in a row now! We are so proud of our Golden Eagles and their pride in their academics.

We continue to see outstanding behavior as our students work on the SOAR (Service, Ownership, Attitude, Respect) expectations here at CECW. We are always watching for students demonstrating SOAR within our school, and we recognized the following students in September:
Holten S. for Service and Attitude
Lincoln M. for Ownership
Josiah E. for Ownership
Madi H. for Service
Brenden B. for Respect

Our students continue to shine in their academics, their character, and in school spirit. I am so proud to be a CECW Golden Eagle.

Sincerely,
Ms. Smith

A Note From the Health Office: Healthy Foods & Drinks at School

Here at CECW, we are all about healthy eating, drinking, and living. We love getting outside as much as we can to promote physical activity, healthy lunches to feed our bodies, and avoiding drinks that may be detrimental to our health. We discourage having any energy drinks at the school, and instead choose beverages that feed our minds and our bodies. We want to make sure we are eating beneficial breakfasts each day, packing snacks that can sustain us through the day, and bringing lots of water to stay hydrated. We want the best for our ourselves and for our students and it all starts with taking care of our bodies.

Thank you kindly,
Amanda Atkins and Nurse Jen McGlue
