A Letter From Principal Smith
Welcome to October! The weather is beautiful and the colors in the mountains are beautiful. I was able to take a drive along the Peak-to-Peak highway last weekend, and I am pretty sure the colors are brighter than they have ever been. As the weather changes each year, I am reminded of how quickly time passes. Although the past few years have been filled with the trials of COVID-19, they have brought so much joy and growth to our school and within our own community. I am so grateful to be a part of this growing school and to watch all our students grow and learn every day.
We had a great spirit week this week! The students and staff had so much fun dressing up for each theme and did a wonderful job of showing off their school spirit! Be sure to check our Facebook page for some of those photos.
We have also had some great academic accomplishments this month. Brayden R. in 8th grade, Lexie H. in 9th grade, and Olivia V. in 6th grade have all been recognized as the highest scoring student in the entire state of Colorado in Achieve 3000! CECW has held that record for two weeks in a row now! We are so proud of our Golden Eagles and their pride in their academics.
We continue to see outstanding behavior as our students work on the SOAR (Service, Ownership, Attitude, Respect) expectations here at CECW. We are always watching for students demonstrating SOAR within our school, and we recognized the following students in September:
Holten S. for Service and Attitude
Lincoln M. for Ownership
Josiah E. for Ownership
Madi H. for Service
Brenden B. for Respect
Our students continue to shine in their academics, their character, and in school spirit. I am so proud to be a CECW Golden Eagle.
