MAPs Testing and Final Exams

Dear CECW Families,

The end of the semester is just around the corner! This means it is time to start thinking about MAP growth testing and final exams. Now is a great time to check in with your student(s) about their grades and upcoming exams to encourage a strong finish!

Before you begin making plans for Winter Break, please refer back to our 2022-2023 academic calendar. CECW’s MAPs/final exams schedule begins on Thursday, December 8th and goes through 3pm on Tuesday, December 15th. Both final exams and MAP growth assessments are extremely important benchmarks for your students, so please plan accordingly.

The MAPs/final exam schedule is available HERE and will be appearing in each newsletter leading up to exams. If you have any questions or concerns in the meantime, feel free to contact me via email at rebecca.feilmann@coloradoearlycolleges.org.

Happy Studying!

Mrs. Feilmann, Director of Instruction

Teacher Gifting

Dear CECW Families,

As we approach the holiday season,

we have asked the staff to create wish lists of things that they would like for themselves and their classrooms. We know that the last few years have been

hard on all of us and we are looking to shower the staff with things that they need to best support their self-care and classrooms. Please see the links below for gift ideas. Please note that if an item has been already selected, choose a different item from another category, gift cards can have multiple purchases.

**We would like to make sure ALL staff members are able to receive something.**

Holidays Gifts should be brought in the week of December 5th-13th before we all go on break. Students can drop them off in the front office, addressed to the staff member if they choose to be anonymous, or brought straight to their teachers.

Thank you in advance for your love and generosity,

The CECW SAC

Staff Spotlight!

CECW Families,

This week, CECW would like to spotlight Mr. Walz, our performing arts instructor! Mr. Walz graduated from UNC with a bachelor's degree in Music Education. He specialized as a singer, but he has had several years of experience playing saxophone in various concert bands. Mr. Walz has been at CEC Windsor since day 1, and has held the title of Performing Arts Instructor for all 4 years.

While in college, he took an interest in opera theater and eventually went to Germany for a summer to perform in George Bizet's Carmen. He regularly works with Loveland Opera Theatre's productions, with having just recently wrapped up their production of Lerner and Lowe's Brigadoon. He can also do magic, juggle, Irish dance (as well as play in an Irish band), play accordion, and voice act. We are so happy to have Mr. Walz as part of our Golden Eagle family here at CEC Windsor!
