MAPs Testing and Final Exams

Dear CECW Golden Eagle Families,

The end of the year is right around the corner! Next Thursday, students will begin MAP testing. Students will MAP test on Thursday and Friday of next week and will take final exams on the following Monday and Tuesday. The schedule for these days is altered, so please click HERE to familiarize yourself with the schedule changes for the final days of school.

We saw such incredible growth during our winter MAP testing, and we were so proud to watch our students collect the tape they earned for each point of growth to duct tape Mr. Hathcoat to the wall! This time, we know we will see even more growth, so our plan is to give students one ball per point of growth to throw at a dunk tank in hopes of dunking a CECW staff member! Students have conferenced with their English and Math teachers and know their goal for growth, so please encourage your student(s) to do their very best on all upcoming tests.

I cannot wait to celebrate the end of testing and a wonderful year with field day (and a dunk tank!).

Summer School!

Dear Parents and Students,

Summer is quickly approaching! We are excited to share that CECW is offering two project-based camps both from 8 to 11 AM each day of the following dates:

• June 7,8,9,14,15,16,21,22,23-Build a Museum
• July 12,13,14,19,20,21,26,27,28- Create a Farm to School Program

Both camps will incorporate all core subject areas including (but not limited to):

• English Language Arts
• Math
• Science
• Social Studies
• Elevate (Social Emotional Learning)

Student Shark Tank

Dear CECW Families,

For the last few weeks, your 7th and 8th grade students have been working on their very own "Shark Tank" style business idea in their Elevate class. Join us in the school cafeteria this Wednesday, May 4th, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM as students pitch their ideas to a panel of judges. Winning ideas in each of the four classes will win $100.

Bus Registration Open!

Dear Parents and Students,

CEC is pleased to announce that School Bus transportation will again be offered to CEC students in the 22-23 school year at no cost to families.  Families may see proposed bus routes and complete the Transportation Registration Form by going to the Transportation Services page linked HERE. Additionally, the Transportation Handbook, MyView App information, and a Contact Form for any questions you might have are also available on the website.

Once school is out, the amazing Michelle Sears-Ward will begin to provide regular updates throughout the summer to you on the status of your routes - such as who is registered, space remaining on the bus, and any potential stop changes.  Thank you all for you support as we continue to refine this process!

School Dance

Dear CECW Families,

On Friday May 6th, from 6-8 PM, we are having our end of the year school dance! The theme is Dress Your Best in Hollywood, and CEC dress code still applies. Tickets are $5.00 and are being sold now in the front office. Your student can also purchase a ticket at the door the night of the dance. If your student wants to bring a guest from a school other than CEC Windsor (who is in grades 6-9), they can pick up a Guest Form in the front office that must be signed and approved. Refreshments will be provided. Hope to see your students there!
