6-8th Grade MAP Testing: A Letter From The Dean of Instruction

Please be aware that we will be MAP testing our 6th, 7th, and 8th graders on Wednesday, May 5th and Thursday, May 6th. To accommodate for testing, we will be running an assembly schedule these two days:

  • 6-8th grade students will test from 7:50-9:55am. Their classes will go from 10am-3pm.
  • Remote students will also need to come into the building (from 7:50-9:55am) to test.
  • 9th grade students are not MAP testing, so they will not begin classes until 10am on these days. 9th grade students do not need to report to the building until 9:55am. 9th grade classes will go from 10am-3pm these two days.
  • 9th graders that need to ride the bus will be in a study hall until classes begin at 10am.

Please reach out to me at shannon.elliott@coloradoearlycolleges.org if you have any questions.

Sincerely,
Ms. Elliott
Act Now! Anti-Charter Bill Introduced

CECW Community,

A piece of legislation was introduced this week, and we wanted you to be aware of its impact on our school and other charter schools across Colorado.

In order to stop this proposal (HB21-1295 - www.leg.colorado.gov/bills/hb21-1295) from moving forward, it is important that State Representatives hear from you, our families, and our staff. We don’t ask you to do this often, so when we do, it’s because it’s important.

Reaching out will take less than two minutes, and our partner, the Colorado League of Charter Schools, has made it easy for you to speak up by putting together a sample letter and contact information that you can easily send from your phone or computer. Click HERE to join us in taking action now!

In-Person Learning Reminders

Students need the following items daily:

  • Masks – It is a good idea to have more than one mask, just in case there is a sneeze inside it, it gets dropped at recess, etc.
  • Water Bottles – the drinking fountains are still not available, but the water bottle fillers will be accessible.
  • Their own technology devices – we are hopeful to have devices on campus for the students to use soon, but the delivery date of this technology is still not known.
  • All textbooks and supplies - For the majority of classes, books, notebooks, and supplies will now be kept in the classroom and students will use online resources for homework.

Each student must continue to be screened before entering the building. Please fill out the self-screening form found here or use the QR code to access this each morning by 7:15 am. This will give us time to print the list for the check-in process. If you cannot complete the self-screener electronically, please print this form, complete the survey, and send it to school each morning with your student.

Students that have any of the following symptoms need to stay home and join their classes remotely via Teams:
  • Fever or chills
  • New loss of taste or smell
  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
  • Fatigue
  • Muscle or body aches
  • Headache
  • Cough
  • Sore throat
  • Congestion or runny nose
  • Nausea or vomiting
  • Diarrhea

Please call or email Ms. Dee Baker, Attendance Clerk, to report all absences (including when a student will be remote learning, unless you have chosen the fully remote option for the remainder of the semester).
