Student Council Fundraiser: Hats & Sweats Thursdays

Ready to bust out your school-appropriate hats & sweats on the last Thursday of every month? This year, Student Council wants to throw an end-of-year dance to celebrate the year we made it through together, so we are organizing a fundraiser to help us raise enough money! The first one will be THIS THURSDAY, February 25th.

Overview:
  • On the last Thursday of every month, in-person staff and students can pay $1 to wear a school-appropriate hat or school-appropriate sweat pants (they can pay $2 to wear both!) to school.
  • Students that want to participate but feel they may not be able to should contact Mrs. Lockman.
  • All funds will go toward our end-of-year dance; however, in the event that COVID interferes and we cannot hold this dance, all funds will go into the Student Activities fund to be used for another fun, school-wide activity.

Rules:
  • Sweatpants must be free of fraying and/or holes. Leggings and yoga/athletic pants are not allowed.
  • Hats & sweatpants should not promote anything inappropriate or have any inappropriate language.
  • Students wearing hats and/or sweats must check in at the front to pay and receive their sticker proving they can bend the dress code this day.
February Reading Challenge

CECW's English Language Arts Department is holding a school-wide reading competition to see who can read the most in the month of February! Students and staff will track the number of minutes they spend reading each week on the logs they will receive each Monday in their ELA classes or in their staff mailbox. Keep in mind that students will need a parent/guardian signature for reading minutes to count toward the overall total minutes read by that grade. The grade level that reads the most minutes in the month of February will win a class party and can reclaim the Spirit Stick from staff!

See your ELA teacher for more details. Let's see how much our CECW Golden Eagles can READ!
In-Person Learning Reminders

Students need the following items daily:

  • Masks – It is a good idea to have more than one mask, just in case there is a sneeze inside it, it gets dropped at recess, etc.
  • Water Bottles – the drinking fountains are still not available, but the water bottle fillers will be accessible.
  • Their own technology devices – we are hopeful to have devices on campus for the students to use soon, but the delivery date of this technology is still not known.
  • All textbooks and supplies - For the majority of classes, books, notebooks, and supplies will now be kept in the classroom and students will use online resources for homework.

Each student must continue to be screened before entering the building. Please fill out the self-screening form found here or use the QR code to access this each morning by 7:15 am. This will give us time to print the list for the check-in process. If you cannot complete the self-screener electronically, please print this form, complete the survey, and send it to school each morning with your student.

Students that have any of the following symptoms need to stay home and join their classes remotely via Teams:
  • Fever or chills
  • New loss of taste or smell
  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
  • Fatigue
  • Muscle or body aches
  • Headache
  • Cough
  • Sore throat
  • Congestion or runny nose
  • Nausea or vomiting
  • Diarrhea

Please call or email Ms. Dee Baker, Attendance Clerk, to report all absences (including when a student will be remote learning, unless you have chosen the fully remote option for the remainder of the semester).
