CEE Seeks to Expand Services for Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Survivors

We are proud to share this feature in the News-Times highlighting how CEE intends to expand access to trauma-informed therapy for survivors of domestic and sexual violence. This initiative ensures that survivors receive the long-term support they need-because safety, healing, and empowerment are not on a timeline. Read more...

April was Sexual Assault Awareness Month

Throughout April, CEE staff and community members came together to support Sexual Assault Awareness Month through impactful events and advocacy. Participants showed solidarity on Wear Teal Day and Denim Day, with the latter serving as a powerful international protest against harmful myths and attitudes surrounding sexual violence.

In partnership with Western Connecticut State University, we also co-hosted Empathy in Action: Healthcare’s Vital Role in Sexual Assault Response—a meaningful event highlighting the critical support healthcare professionals provide to survivors. Additionally, the Survivor Art Gallery gave voice to survivors through powerful artistic expressions, sharing stories of resilience and healing.

Together, these events strengthened our community's commitment to supporting survivors and promoting awareness.

Empowerment Story

After a presentation at a local middle school, a student approached our Prevention Educator and said they were grateful for the discussion on cyberbullying and online safety. They disclosed that many of their friends had experienced cyberbullying and didn’t recognize the warning signs until it was too late. The student shared that they now feel more aware of these tactics and want to help raise awareness to support others who may be targeted.
