CEEE Team Develops Design Optimization Framework for Ultra-High Efficiency Heat Exchangers


CEEE researchers engineered a comprehensive design optimization platform for novel Triply Periodic Minimal Surface (TPMS)-based heat exchangers for high-temperature and high-pressure applications using air and supercritical CO2 as the working fluids. CEEE Team Examines a Promising Method to Control Frost Buildup on HVAC&R Equipment


For decades, researchers have explored ways to prevent and remove frost accumulation that can compromise equipment performance. Now, a CEEE team has conducted a thorough review of one promising method, the electrohydrodynamic (EHD) technique, which uses high-voltage electric fields to affect the amount and shape of frost formation.

Study Explores How to Build Resilience by Integrating Heat Pumps With Renewable Energy Sources


Congratulations to CEEE alum Hanlong Wan, CEEE Research Professor Yunho Hwang and Jian Zhang with the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory on their new study on how renewable energy sources can be integrated with heat pump technologies to support resilient space heating in cold climates. The paper was published recently in Energy Research & Social Science.
