Dear Alan,

Did you know that if a teacher or administrator has an innovative idea to enhance the education of students in the School District of the Chathams (SDOC), he or she can apply for a grant from the Chatham Education Foundation (CEF) to fund it? CEF strives to provide funding for educational endeavors that add depth to the curriculum and broaden scholastic experiences. We support initiatives that would not be otherwise funded through the limited SDOC budget. And we can only do this with you!

CEF’s vision is to be the leading philanthropic partner for SDOC for collaborating on innovative ideas to enrich education, support future-focused initiatives, and build a sustainable source of funding through an endowment. We fund grants from teachers and administrators in all six schools in SDOC, K-12, to enhance students’ learning experiences and enrich the curriculum. Over the years, CEF has funded grants across a variety of disciplines and subject areas, which have positively impacted students’ classroom experiences by providing innovative learning spaces and equipment, expanding the collection of diverse and inclusive textbooks, and creating transformative experiences in math, science, and world language.

As we enter our 30th anniversary year, we are proud to have funded over $1.7 million for innovative grants for SDOC. We are grateful to all families who support CEF in any amount. Every dollar makes a difference as we aim to achieve our 30th anniversary fundraising goal of $300,000 in general fund and endowment pledges by June 30th. See the Fall appeal letter in its entirety here.

Sincerely,

Chatham Education Foundation Board of Trustees
