SPEER's Industry + Policy Workshop: Have You Registered?

Member Highlight: Jasleen Dhillon


Jasleen Dhillon is the Assistant Director of the Hunt Institute for Engineering & Humanity at Southern Methodist University, where she leads programs at the intersection of sustainability, social enterprise, and innovation.


As an SMU alum, Jasleen is passionate about transforming the campus into living labs for sustainable change through various community engagement and research initiatives. Prior to this role, Jasleen was an air quality analyst with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ), where she was responsible for air quality modeling and establishing permitting air impacts for criteria and health effects pollutants.

NCTCOG Webinar: Building Management Systems - Scalable Solutions to Help You Manage What Matters

CAPCOG Region: Climate Pollution Reduction Grant Sensor Siting Survey


CAPCOG, in collaboration with the Clean Air Coalition, plans to install low-cost outdoor air quality sensors that provide real-time, publicly available air pollution data across the Austin region. These air sensors will help CAPCOG develop a better understanding of air pollution levels across the region and provide opportunities for environmental education, benefiting both students and adults.


CAPCOG is currently conducting a Sensor Siting Survey to determine what factors are most important to the Central Texas public when it comes to air quality and consider recommended site locations.

Resources to Accelerate Your Energy Improvement

Austin Energy Passive Building Incentive


Austin Energy is testing a new incentive to help address the critical need for sustainable, affordable housing in Central Texas. Participants can earn incentives for affordable multifamily projects that obtain certification from Phius. Research shows that Phius projects are more durable and resilient, reduce energy loads, improve indoor air quality and produce quieter environments. These benefits come from a tighter building envelope and more rigorous design strategies.

CenterPoint Energy CoolSaver Tune-up


Goose Creek CISD is participating in the CenterPoint CoolSaver program. CLEAResult will be sending a team of technicians to tune up a number of their HVAC systems without cost.


This program is offered to commercial sites within the CenterPoint Energy Houston Electric service territory for tune-ups on your HVAC systems.
