Austin Community Connections Resource Fair

November 15 @ 11:00 am - 4:00 pm, Eastside Early College High School


SPEER is excited to join Austin Energy for Austin’s Community Connections Resource Fair. We will be demonstrating practical weatherization techniques to help homeowners improve energy efficiency and resilience as well as distributing free weatherization kits for qualified attendees to use at home. 


Come enjoy a free, family-friendly event with food, prizes, activities for the kids, health services, and tons of local resources (including an electric lawn equipment exchange)!

CELC Virtual Coffee Hour

November 18 @ 9:30 am - 10:30 am


Join fellow CELC members for a 10-minute presentation on boosting energy efficiency in our communities followed by an open group discussion and thought sharing. Learn more on our event page and see our current CELC members.


This month's presenter is Ramon Zarate, an Air Quality Program Specialist with the Capital Area Council of Governments (CAPCOG). He has a Bachelor's degree in Geography with an emphasis in Resource & Environmental Studies from Texas State University and previously worked in solid waste management and the recycling industry. His last role was as a Mapping Specialist with Argo AI, a now defunct autonomous vehicles technologies company. He loves running and reading, but not always at the same time

Texoma Made Conference Recap


SPEER's Senior Manager of Government and Community Engagement Shaun Auckland was in north Texas last week at the Texoma Made Conference in Sherman, hosted by Texoma Council of Governments.


Her session titled "Turning Data into Action: Energy Efficiency for Resilient Communities" explored how local governments can use energy data to cut costs, improve efficiency, and build resilient communities as well as resources and funding mechanisms.

SPEER & TEPRI at Austin ECO Fest




At the October ECO Fest in Austin, Texas we connected with over 100 individuals and distributed 37 weatherization kits to local residents. These efforts are made possible through DOE grant funding in partnership with HARC.

Dallas College Sustainability Summit

In its 14th year, the Sustainability Summit returns this year with new energy. Reimagined as a series of events at each campus, the summit will highlight different sustainability topics while bringing together students, faculty, staff and community members in a bold, unified mission—to build a sustainable future.
