WHY NATIONAL SAUNA WEEK?

Sauna is one Finnish word that is familiar around the globe---it’s even in English dictionaries. The popularity of sauna in the U.S. is exploding, both in construction of home saunas and growth in public saunas.

Finlandia Foundation National founded National Sauna Week in 2022 as a way of building awareness for this important part of life in Finland and in Finnish America.

National Sauna Week is held the last week of February each year.

Finlandia Foundation National, a non-profit organization, is the leading source of support for Finnish culture in the U.S.
