It's been 10 years...

It is with great pride that Debbie and I wish a Happy 10th Anniversary to the City of Peachtree Corners. From the Paul Duke era and the creation of Tech Park Atlanta to the creation of the United Peachtree Corners Civic Association (UPCCA) and the 2012 vote for incorporation, it has been the evolution of a community into a city.

Since we achieved cityhood, we have had many successes. With the Town Center and Town Green, we have created a space where we can come together and make memories. With Curiosity Lab, we have created a space for thought, innovation, and creation, reigniting the unique technology-based growth of the Paul Duke era. With the growth and maturing of the city, we have created a broader, more inclusive, sense of community.

AHS will construct a mixture of 382 multi-family apartments (212 one-bedroom units and 170 two-bedroom units), 6,000 square feet of office space, a small retail space and a location for food truck parking for on-site events. The 20 Tech Parkway South building will be reused as a mixed-use structure, while 22 Tech Parkway South will be demolished
There will be 2.6 acres of open, public space.
Robot developer moves operation to Peachtree Corners
Luis Manuel Guzman, an American engineer and inventor, is moving his operations from Alpharetta to Peachtree Corners. He and his remarkable humanoid robot called ZEUS 2Q will be working out of a space at 6395 Spalding Drive.
What started eight years ago as a hobby has turned into a patented robot and entrepreneurial enterprise. Guzman appeared on America’s Greatest Makers show, a reality TV show aired in 2016. He was one of 24 selected to go for the second season. At the time, he was working on a humanoid robot. He patented the robot and registered his company in 2020. He is now in the manufacturing stage with the hope the market will stabilize. It takes three months to build one of the humanoids that stand 4’2”.

Zues 2Q is able to walk, talk, and follow instructions. This robot is primarily a creation of Guzman’s company System Technology Works, LLC. It will be used as an educational tool, transforming the way people learn, engage, and program robots.

His mission? He wants to empower robot enthusiasts and research fellows by putting the power of Computer Science, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Mechanics, Electronics and Engineering into their hands.  The education is the how—the programming of the humanoid.

“It is programming from digital to the physical and back,” he said.
Most people program in the digital realm. In this case, with the robots, there are physical inputs and outputs which are part of the process.
