Thursday, our students participated in the First Friday Club of Cleveland which is a luncheon and presentation hosted by the Catholic Community Foundation at the Center for Pastoral Leadership in Wickliffe, Ohio. The guest presenters were Rick Schultz, a successful entrepreneur and his son, Fr. Patrick Schultz, Parochial Vicar at Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish in Wadsworth, Ohio. The inspiring and personal journey shows their unwavering love for each other, their family and their path of devotion to their Catholic faith.
In describing how his journey began, Fr. Patrick shared, "I was invited to a high school retreat at our home parish, St. Mary's in Hudson by a girl I wanted to date. I went to the retreat and in a quiet moment felt the Lord introducing himself to me. I fell in love with the Lord that weekend and wanted to learn more." Rick said, "the day my son celebrated his ordination Mass as a Catholic priest, I could only describe the moment as pure joy coming from the love of God."
Our students were moved by the Schultz family story and were excited to be part of the event!
