CEO Brigid McRaith to Depart in June

After 15 extraordinary years of service at Mile High Youth Corps, Brigid McRaith will transition out of her role as CEO this June as part of a relocation she and her family are making, fulfilling a long held dream to live outside the US for a period.

I firmly believe that change brings tremendous opportunity. MHYC has been my home for 15 years, and I leave with the knowledge that now is the right time to welcome a new CEO who can build on the growth we have accomplished collectively. Our board, staff, programs, and financial position are in an exceptional place today, and the new leader will be an important catalyst for the next chapter at MHYC,” shares Brigid.

During Brigid's tenure as CEO, the organization increased youth served by 64%, nearly doubled its operating budget, advanced racial equity outcomes, and launched a healthcare pathway and firefighting module.

"It has been an honor to serve with a remarkably talented staff team and Board of Directors. Our expansive and ever-growing group of community partners, funders, and project sponsors have allowed MHYC to advance its mission strategically and innovatively. Collectively, we have made a lasting impact in the lives of young people, the community, and the environment. I am excited to champion MHYC’s transformative work in the years ahead,” adds Brigid.

“On behalf of MHYC, the Board of Directors, our staff, and Corpsmembers, we thank Brigid for her visionary leadership that created unprecedented growth across the organization. Brigid has an entrepreneurial spirit, a passion for youth development and racial equity, and a steadfast love for community impact. We have begun the search for our next CEO and will be looking for someone who can build on and amplify the successes Brigid and the staff have achieved--continuing our critical work in youth development, conservation, and equity,” shares Lauren Buehler, Board Chair.

We’ll be sharing more details in the weeks to come, so please stay tuned!

Things are heating up!

Our Winter Fire Crew has been staying warm this season taking care of our environment! As of the beginning of February, our Corpsmembers have burned over 200 piles in 4 areas: AG Ranch (5 acres), Colorado Trail (7 acres), Harris Park (5 acres) and Raleigh Peak (7 acres). Fire mitigation and controlled burning (with the correct permits, protection, and supervision of course!), are great ways to prevent forest fires and protect our environment. Check out this clip HERE.
